400 cel downpipe question

Why are there not more companies that sell 400 cel Downpipes? AA is making a killing charging almost 3k for their Gesi Downpipes. You think more companies would try and make 400 cel Downpipes. Has anyone heard of any other companies even attempting or have similar Downpipes on the horizon? Thanks for you help,
Ian

You answered your own question, AA’s are 3k. But to get more specific, not as much gain to be had relative some other platforms and with the stockers flowing pretty well already, kind of unnecessary

AA is selling it for 3K because GESI cats are very expensive.

Other companies are not selling GESI cats because they cannot get GESI cats on the downpipes directly from China.

They either need to build the downpipe here, or they need to get the downpipe from China, Cut it and install the GESI cat on it.

Are you looking for a catted downpipe for smell reduction or is your goal to have a Cel free car without a tune?

I just do not want to get a CEL, I cannot code out the CEL because I have an extended warranty.

If its a bmw warranty I understand but if its an extended aftermarket warranty that allows you to take it to a shop of your choice you have nothing to worry about.

We are using 200CEL Euro 5 Cats

Then why are you even messing with the most useless part of the exhaust if you're not going to tune for more power? Just buy a loud exhaust if you want sound.

+1
if you are not after power, an actual exhaust and /or midpipe is the better investment

I already bought the AA single midpipe from you about 6 months ago. It’s a factory extended warranty. I don’t care about sound, I’m slowly building piece by piece until my warranty is up and then I will be able to tune. I thought the downpipe would be a better investment then 5-6k for a 5hp exhaust gain.
I still don’t know why any company US or foreign cannot make a 400 cel downpipe. It is just baffling to me that no other company is thinking along those lines.

You have Active Autowerke, Fabspeed and Akrapovic.

They are costly because these cats are much more expensive than the generic 200 CEL cats used in most downpipes.
It also requires more work, as explained above.

Please note the CEL of the cats is not the essential factor. A cheap 400 CEL cat will still trigger the check engine light.

To avoid this issue, you need high-quality cats similar to GESI or HJS, which are not cheap.

Active Autowerke is by far the most proven one and the cheapest of the three.

Stock cats flow great. No need to change them unless you’ve built your engine over 700WHP.

Do the AA single midpipe if you want deeper sound.

As Jimmy mentioned, if you are looking for an improvement in sound. A single midpipe is the better investment. You can also add an axle back for a complete sound upgrade.

A tune is a better investment than downpipes if you are after power.

The downpipe is the way to go if you have done either and still want more.

Would I net good gains with the stage 2 JB4? That way I can take if off if/when I go to my car dealership?

High flow cats that work well enough to not trigger an emissions code simply cost more because of the amount of precious metals required to make it work.

They're good for about +20 whp when tuned and helps spool times.

Not everyone has that kind of dough, so you can still run OE cats with something like a Cary Jordan tune, which is designed for max hp on stock emissions equipment.
