I'm sure this will get lost in a hurry among all the comments about the horrible styling, but nobody noticed how FAST that thing was on the Ring!!

Yes, definitely flashing brake light function. Isn´t it common in the US? Since 2008 all BMWs have thoose feature(in my country). Or is it the same thing like about the rear fog lamp? Not allowed? Also never seen on US-cars.

I think this is most likely, I coded mine to do the same here in the US and it was interesting to have people comment about it at my first track event a couple of weeks ago.
