Was looking forward to doing some comparos, but it will have to wait! We are crossing our fingers and hoping its nothing serious.

The car is not ugly. Does it look as nice and rounded as the BMW? I'd say no but I'd also say not bad either. I've never owned a Merc but you have to give them credit to stepping up their sporty looking game relative to BMW which has always looked great.

Again, I own a 2013 335i M Sport and am looking at options. M4/M3 is just one option. There is not just looks but also speed, engine sound, safety etc. I'm just saying the C63 AMG is an option. Is it better? Not saying that but you have to consider it if you're in the market.

I'm certain its a quick fix but a new car with little to no miles on it....these pics hurt my eyes.

Right on. Both cars are amazing and worth a look. Writing off one or the other because of the brand is just plain dumb.

Problem with the c63 for me is that i wouldnt be able to just get the base c63, i would have to go with the c63s which is quite a bit more money. Getting a not quite top of the line C would bother me, even though i wouldnt be using the extra power 99% of the time. Priced the way i would want each car the M3 comes out to $74k (maybe $79k if i go for the san marino blue individual, prices based on 2015 model). If there were more options like ventilated seats/upgraded seats i would get it but its not an option on the m3 as it is for the c63. So the c63s comes out to over $80k for me. I stopped building after i got to that point. Taking into account that you wont be able to get a discount on the c63 while getting a $3-5k off an M3 plus free maintenance, it becomes a no brainer for me to get the M3.

Ignoring the price, i like the way bmw's drive over mercedes, bmw's tranmission manual and dct are much better than merc. The c63 seems better for everyday driving but if you want to track the car, M3 seems to be the clear choice. Sound is definitely better in the c63, but the M3 sounds great too.

Ultimately, everyone should test drive each to figure out what fits better for them. For me its the M3.
Great analysis. I'm in the same boat as you except for I'm Ok with a minimalist C63 that would come out in the $67-$68M price range which would be under the M3/M4. BMW looks better to me. C63 sounds better to me. Both interiors are great. If the C63 coupe comes back in 2016 then it's harder. I love all of the BMW features I'm used to HUD, driving modes (I use these all the time sport, eco and comfort) so I'm torn too. To buy Merc would be cheaper for me and to lease BMW is way better. Thanks for your input. Let me know what you do. I have another 9 months to decide.

The Benz weigh 2 tons. You can't compare it to an M3. Once built it with similar features to an M3, it's $85k. No thanks.

It's 4050 pounds or so when equipped with the glass panoramic roof, which you can't get on an F8x. The roof weighs an estimated 150-200 lbs, putting the car at a more manageable 3900 pounds when you don't tick the box.

And I'd be curious to see what similar features you're talking about. In stock form the C63's standard equipment is already comparable to the F8x's.

I've priced them out at under $70M but I don't like to pay for lots of extra things I won't use. Yes, the C63 is heavier but it also has more horsepower. It's rated faster 0-60 than the M3/M4 so weight is irrelevant unless you drive the grossglockner strada in Germany/Austria everyday. lol.

How about the fake engine sound coming from the BMW? The C63 engine sound is heads and tails better than the BMW. I have seen one and heard one and there's no comparison. Engine sound is NOT the only factor but in this category the C63 kicks the M's ass...

If you don't track at all, it's fine. If you do, you'll feel every pound of it. It's like having 2 fat ladies sitting in the back of an M3 around the track. This is the same reason why 5 series aren't popular on the track. No bueno.

Keep in mind that BMW underrates the HP. 430HP on the M3 brochure = 430+ WHP, 480+ crank HP. BTW, they both go 0-60 in 3.9sec. Not sure where you find "faster" from.

Buy what you like, but it is BMW forum. Expect biased opinions.

BMW website says the M's 0-60 is 4.1 seconds. Maybe they are understated. They are close. The M is lighter but less HP while the C63 has more HP but is heavier. This is not what will decide one over the other for most people. Both are equally fast.

C&D hasn't had a chance to do their controlled instrumented C63s test yet. The 3.9 second time is the manufacturer reported time. A real apples to apples 0-60 comparison needs to wait until C&D finishes their own test in their own controlled environment.

It's also worth noting that the previous generation W204 C63 507 achieved a 3.7 second time in C&D's test vs. the manufacturer's claim of 4.1 seconds.

The C63 does sound better with the V8, but it comes with a weight penalty. So I will gladly take the I6 from the M3.

They under-rate everything lol. I think the BMW will get the jump on races (Big factor) considering weight and DCT, but top end the v8 will over power.

I respect that for sure. According to dynos 3er dynod his car at eurocharged with 441 whp and c63s at 467, so give or take 25 horsepower and add the weight of the c63s I think it will have the same 0-60 if not .1 seconds slower.
