What's the rpm and top speed limit before the 1200 mile break-in?

Is there a mandatory limit? Are there any limits as to how hard to hit the brakes before the 1200mi? I know there is an owners manual but that takes a backseat to the info that comes from the forum.

I took delivery here in Germany and the delivery agent stated 100MPH, 4000 RPM and no cruise control for extended periods until 1200 miles. BMW can deny your warranty if you don't follow those procedures...at least that what they said.
I may have broken all 3 rules by a short period, but hell with it...

For your cars longevity, what coolmex200 said about cruise control is important as well. You want to vary the speed. Honestly, I am not sure why, but I have always been told this.

I was told the same during ED pick up both times in Munich. Hard to vary speeds a whole lot when you want to cover large distances in a few days, so I wasn't that strict about it.

But these were not M cars. (E46 ZHP & E91 M-Sport)

Larythecableguy had an interesting break in procedure as a tuner. Curious if anyone has done that.

Included revving it to redline in every gear once in the first 50 miles.
