How did you bed the brakes? I'm wondering if this is why some people experience squealing and others don't.

My CCBs are noisy sometimes but I wouldn't describe the noise as squealing. Perhaps those saying their CCBs aren't squealing just think of the noise differently. I believe noise is a pretty well known characteristic of CCBs, regardless of brands. (Bedding may help temporarily but is highly unlikely to eliminate noise permanently.)

Mine are AWESOME! No fade on the street-EVER. I haven't tracked my car though, so I cannot attest to fade resistance at the track. Occasionally, they make a slight groaning sound at parking lot speeds, whith the wheel slightly turned and my foot off the brakes. They seem to do this less now, as compared to when new.

No brake dust. If they do what they are supposed to do, regarding life span for a street driven car, they are worth every penny.

Worth it IMO.
Totally agree. It would be nice to have a CCB kit for 18" wheels.

Probably not possible. To be effective, CCB rotors need to be quite larger than iron ones.

Was very very gentle on the brake for the first 300 miles. No hard braking at all, but still long brakes instead. Haven't had any squealing at all.

I drove steel brakes with Pagid pads and stock ccb back to back at sebring over the summer. The steel brakes lasted 5 or 6 laps and we're cooked. The ccb lasted the entire session and I could brake like 10 feet deeper. My jaw was in my lap at how good they were. I thought it was gimmicky before but after that im a believer.

380mm is a decent size and I know there are some popular aftermarket 18" wheels can fit them in.

I have 16k miles on my car and 4 track days with the CCBs, and the pedal is definitely softer than it was stock.

Should I replace pads or is the pedal feel something else?

Also I love the look of them, all of my other hatred aside they really do look killer.

A softer pedal likely comes from the fluid having overheated. Since CCB have higher operating temperatures, it is more critical to have good fluid. I'd start by changing to Castrol SRF.

As for brake pads, if they are below 30% remaining, I would seriously consider changing them before your next track event. Thinner pads transfer more heat to the rotors accelerating rotor life depletion. You should be fine for the street though.

I am about to pull the trigger on an M4 CS.

I am still undecided as to whether to get CCB or not.

I have Brembo GT 6 pot front and 4 pot rear on my current M4. I love them.

Seriously the best brakes I have had to date. They were so stong on stock suspension that the car would be a handful and almost unstable when you stood on them. Much better now with the KW CS. I am however thinking that the bias may be out and because I have 305 MPSC2.

I have read that the CS has re calibrated ABS, that accounts for the sticker MPSC2. This interests me a lot. I am thinking that if I get the CCB they will be just as good as the Brembo GT, but silky smooth and perfectly balanced. Of course with NO BRAKE Dust.

The scarring issue destroying rims, won't be an issue on the rear, as the CS comes with 20 inch on the rear. I am hoping that the CS front 19's have more clearance that the stock M4 front wheel design? Does anyone know?

It would be cheaper to put Brembo GT on afterwards, but I want better, not cheaper. They both look great.

I do track around 3 times a month.

P.S. I had to put 12 mm spacers on the front stock 19 for them to clear the stock wheeels. The rear cleared with nothing. With 305 on rear, it looks like rear already has spacers.

Thoughts ?

Are you planning to track the car regularly? If so, stay away from the CCB, they will just prove to be cost prohibitive. If not, they are a cool option for the lower unsprung weight, lower dust, long life (with street only use) and higher bling factor.

I vary the track work. From cars and coffee, roll racing, drag strip, and even skid pan figure 8. I wouldn't do actual full paced laps anymore than once a month max. I do like country/canyon runs.

I would stay away from them even if you go once a month to track. I was doing exactly the same and gone through two sets of rotors in 1.5 year. Approximately 12 track days each being 20minutes for 2-3 sessions.(480-600minutes on track total)
Now I changed them to Essex AP front and rear sets, they have the same performance if not better and their replacement rings were 400-500$.

This looks like impact damage. Will likely NOT be covered by warranty.
