You really can't tell the difference between these & OEM carbon parts.

Totally confused. Is this oem? Or been wrapped?
The alcantara baseplate and carbon shifter cover can be had from dealer for £220.

Trying to figure out what makes it different?

These are stock OEM parts that have been properly skinned in CF. Not simply wrapped.
I think you're mistaken. The CF shift surround alone from BMW is £240. The DCT CF shifter itself is £170.
