Got a call from David and they are going to order me a new steering wheel cover at no cost to me... very pleased.
Might as well buy the carbon fiber trim as well and have them install it... Thanks Steve Thomas for satisfying another customer

Its great that it got fixed but its kind of sad that you had to put them on blast on the forums just to get something done. Either way I guess its good that they still did something, other dealers could have reacted differently. At least they corrected the wrongdoing.

Lesson I learnt ... Got to love this thing called The Internet. It created forums like this , which are a win/win.
Consumer has a way of correcting their greviences and merchants have a great source to increase their sales. Hope OP is happy and I hope Steve Thomas gets more sales. |

You should update the OP with the outcome. I think STBMW stepped up here for you, and I almost didn't make it to the end of the thread to see how they resolved it. |

By wrongdoing I meant failing to communicate with him and ignoring him to an extent just because he already signed the papers and they got the purchase down, not the physical damage done to the steering wheel

The lesson to be had here, as stated by many others, is to notify the dealer immediately. The second he found the damage he should have picked up his cell phone and called. The OP claims he assumed it was going to be covered and therefore waited until his 1200 mile service to tell his local dealer. He is lucky the selling dealer is stepping up at this point. Frankly, by waiting it looks like the OP sliced his own wheel (that is clearly a cut not a flaw) and ultimately got it covered under warranty by claiming it was there all along and putting the selling dealer on blast. |

But if you or anyone thinks that dealers give 2 shits they don't. Real estate agents and car dealerships really could care less. It's just the nature of the business. |

Despite all of the unwarranted mudslinging, you sir and your dealership are a class act. If I were an American looking for a BMW you'd be at the top of my list!!

Found this. Couldn't help but share with OP.
Glad everything worked out, as it mostly does, after a mutually respectful conversation. Now, you can enjoy the A///MAZING car without having to look at the slit steering wheel cover! Have fun!!! Can't wait for mine.

Glad everything got worked out for ya. Ima little late but I was gonna say no way jimmy (golffrr) would leave you hanging. He's very easy to work with and thorough on the customer service end. Steve Thomas might not be the cheapest dealer but between David and jimmy the few bucks is definitely worth the service. Just my .02 cents

Like Jimmy said, I strongly disagree with this statement, I go above and beyond for all my service clients, and literally treat their vehicles as if it were my own and I have a really bad case of OCD. We wouldn't pay the annual fee's to be a vendor on this forum and provide additional levels of customer service if we didn't "give 2 shits" because in actuality we do...
