Ive reached the limiter - 270 km/h many times. Honestly dont feel like i want to go any faster. Sport suspension or sport + makes a HUGE difference in terms how stable the car feels at such speeds.

Its the BMW lap timer. A great app, cant recommend it enough. It knows the track you are on and stores data like throttle response, brakes, etc and will let you replay your laps via the google map reader built it.

So after running a session, you can go back and review each turn, each input, each mistake to fix it the next time you go out. It's free, but its the best BMW app I own by a mile.
bmw lap timer. does it require hardware or is it just a phone app?
It requires iDrive in an M series car. I think you are good

You hook your phone up to the usb plug in your center console. Open the app. Navigate to connected drive. Scroll to the bottom until you find Laptimer. Hold down one of your memory buttons to store it as a shortcut so you never have to dig through the menus again

Yup, all you need is iDrive and the cable. Best free app I have ever used, many people I see on track days use another one (for non-BMW cars) that costs something like $10-15. Ill try to post of video reviewing one of my runs over the weekend if I remember.

I hit 174. Seems to be limited there. Looking forward to removing the limiter

Speedometer turned plaid on me once on a long straight. Figured it was time to slow down.

This is obviously sort of an old thread, but how are you guys hitting these speeds on your ED? I'm not expecting to get out of my break-in period during ED, and I thought the recommended top speed for that was ~105mph?

That's the beauty of warranty. Driving it like you stole it since day 1 is the way to go. I have yet to encounter catastrophic engine failure after doing this to the last 4 cars that I've owned lol.

Ah, you must be referring to the "yellow license plate people"
They always scare the cr4p out of me on the autobahn as well.

At an undisclosed time and location somewhere in the world, I topped out 5th gear in my E46 M3. According to this site, that means ~164mph... which also means that it's above the 155mph "limit" so I'm not sure where it is either...

Speed Limiter

So, from my knowledge, the F80 is to be limited at 155mph. I can say, for me, that was not the case. Has anyone had a similar experience?
