I got you beat. I was literally test driving this car and going to put a deposit on it when I got back to the dealership. Upon return I was told someone put in an application, didn't even get the chance.

Never thought I would need to put a deposit down pre test drive.

Wow, I’ve never heard of that. Seems like the sales team wasn’t coordinated. When you say “this car”, do you mean this one in Austin?

Yep that exact car in Austin! Haha. I was so pissed. How can they sell the car to someone out of state when someone in person is test driving it.

I even had to buy insurance to test drive it since I currently don’t own a car and that dealership requires you to have it to test drive.

Now I’m paying insurance on a 2018 m3 and don’t own one.

You didn’t cancel the policy and get a refund after the deal fell through?

I will just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Was also hoping just to find another car within a week so it wouldn’t matter. I’m looking pretty aggressively.

I was recently test driving a 1991 Porsche 911 w my pops. When we returned with the vehicle the owner stated it sold this morning to someone in Texas. Still waiting for wire transfer but the Truck is on its way over.
My pops was like I’ll match it and take it right now. Seller stated he preferred it went away so no one bothers him about issues. Clearly wasn’t meant to be and a bit sus of a comment.
