Nice marketing talk!

You can see on all the footage how big the car really is. It more an M5 taking on the nurburgring and not an E36 or E46 M3.

You can see in the slides how much time you have to correct it. That means it s wheelbase is pretty large.

As a fun car you really need a less long wheelbase to get more agility and then need faster responses to catch a car out of a slide. For me it brings more exitement to drive a car like the 1M.

I really like the auto blip on downshifts and all the weight savings now bring it on in a smaller 2 series M car.
whatever
I just love ur profile pic. Priceless

I love German words ... "Dampfer-Testfahrt" lol (damper testing clip)

The way the car corners and rides it reminds me somewhat of Z4 GTE. I watched several clips and based on footage only it seems there are similarities.

Maybe DTM drivers are designing their ideal "DD" for kids and fam ride on the 'bahn

This will be one sick machine!

I think the "jet" sound at 3:13 is more accurate to the sound of high braking noise to plant the nose before making it over that elevation change

You can see the rear drivers side head rest clearly in the second to last video. You can tell they tried covering it but it came off or lose during the drive.

It looks like they tested on the Sudschleife as well. To be expected, but still cool .

You're a purist, but you like automatic rev matching?

To me there are only two logical extremes in transmissions: a proper gated manual or a proper DCT. M cars have never had manuals that felt as great as the rest of the car, up to and including the E92. I've never driven a manual F1x M car, but I presume BMW hasn't changed things significantly from the reviews.

BMW makes great cars, but they have also fallen backwards into good fortune and the Getrag DCT in the E9x is an example of technology marching forward.

Our logical growth is towards a Ferrari right? And doesn't nearly every Ferrari use a Getrag DCT?

I think with the active sound it's still the principle of the matter... It's still artificial

These dtm drivers look like they have to concentrate when driving so that means this car is either scary fun or they aren't fun and just want to get it over with

I'm still excited and hope to get to read the technical bulletin about the S55 soon

dont sound bad... but yest still wanting bmw to make their sound that of more power. MB sounds better don't ya'll agree. what are they engineering... i guess at this point in observing the past 10yrs, bmw doesn't want another sound. i mean i was kinda hoping they'd have a more 'power' sound...a slightly meaner edge by now.. i mean take a couple min. to listen to this bad video that came out today:
it's a lol mustang... and one extreme.. no i'm not trying to cause a stir... i'm just saying something like this has a sound of power...to me... not saying bmw sounds like a honda 8k rpm 4banger at all... just thought bmw by now would have deepened it's 'voice'... i'm guessing now, they dont want to.
