Question Ordering an M4 in San Marino Blue?

Does anybody know when I would be able to build an M4 and choose the color San Marino Blue?

I was told by the dealership that they could not do this until the next production cycle starts. Does anybody know when that is? I know I can’t order that color from the BMW site and have to go through the dealership. Thanks for any info!

I ordered BMW M4 2019 2 weeks ago and got a call from my dealer saying that I might get 2020 version because they changing 2019 to 2020. And 2020 should have some extra options to choose such as color (frozen blue) and interior color. And obviously I wanted to choose a new color. So I couldn't choose it yet. I've been told that on a first week of February dealers should get an ordering guide. Mine should call me once they have it and give me a chance to make some adjustments to my order.

Yes you will be able to change your color, just keep calling your dealer and remind him.

Just to clarify, BMW has never shown San Marino Blue as an available color on their website for the M3/M4. For the (non-CS) M3/M4, San Marino Blue has been an Individual color and must be specially ordered during the order process at your BMW dealer.

For the M4, BMW has "standard" colors, with Alpine White at no cost, and six other metallic colors available for $550. In addition, they have offered a few other "standard" Individual colors, such as Tanzanite Blue, for ~$1800, but at the moment, these are not shown on the website.

All other colors, including San Marino Blue, are non-standard Individual colors, must be approved by BMW, add additional time to the manufacturing process, and about $5200 to the cost.

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering the M4 yesterday. I am going from a 2015 435 m sport to my first M.

I ended up going with the San Marino blue and also getting the 433m wheels for them and a carbon fiber front lip and carbon fiber spoiler. The hard part now.....the wait! I’m really glad I waited for the San Marino because they were trying to get me into a different color back in December.

Yes which sucks. They really should offer that color. I was either going with the Ferrari red or San Marino.

I didn’t get an msrp but it’s going to be between 4900-5000 for San Marino. Start of production starts March 1st.

Also what helped is they are giving me 27k for my 435.

Check out the 2020 M4 pricing guide which was just published. (sticky on top)
Finally SMB is a standard (read $550) color option for the US.

Cancel now. Model years 2020 and on will have SMB as an option for 550.

After the F80 EOP, as your aware, SMB is now standard $550; surprised it's not a $1,800 priority 1 for MY 2020. Tanzanite has been removed for MY 2020 as a Priority 1 opinion. Interesting that the G20 has Tanzanite II exterior option. As M4 CS EOP is June 2019, BMW USA is using the $550 SMB to drive sales for remaining F82/F83 production run.

Your F80 SMB should hold its value as a $5,200 individual option, but not for the F82/F83. PS I know that your F80 has full black with blue stitching as I'm going to inquire with individual next year if I can add blue leather panels, similar to the full leather silverstone contrast with the full black/blue stitching with SMB for a F83– not sure when the M8 will be released.
