Getting ready to get on the dyno with my PS2+/Dorch/EU5 setup and was told the following by my tuner:
"You can run E85 but power is going to be limited due to stock LPFP and the EU5 injectors, which can only flow about 20% or so more than stock injectors. If you want max power E50, if you want convenience, E85." Any advice/feedback? Thanks!

I'd imagine that the stock LPFP could be adequate depending on the ultimate power goal, but even PI requires the addition of an upgraded LPFP in order to flow well enough for high level E85 tunes.

Welp I just wanted to quickly share my dyno tune sesh with the maestro Paul Johnson! 🙌
This was the last run after ~ 10 or so pulls as we worked on the 93 map prior in pretty hot/muggy 90+ VA weather😅 DCT F82 PJT E85 tune PS2+ (redesigned 2020 version) Dorch HPFP kit F10 M5/EU5 injectors NGK 97506 at .019" VRSF DP's AA single midpipe AA 3can muffler Stock cooling and stock intake with drop-ins 👀 That's essentially all power upgrades wise. Less is more 💪 NO PI OR METH! - I was not interested in any potential risks and complications associated with supplemental fueling or secondary controllers. These results were made at "only" 27/28 psi with no issues with fueling limitations. Stay tuned my friends 🤙

The boost leaks were identified and taken care of, but the timing is still breaking up in the high rpm band. Both Cary and now ABP have mentioned fuel quality seeming to be the main culprit on the 93 tune, so I'm trying to supplement with 3-4 gallons of 100 octane in order to boost it. I'm shooting in the dark though as the tuner crowd around here have stated the 93 in the area is some kind of reformulated crap that might be closer to 91, but there's no way to be certain just how off it is. Even after adding 3gallons of 100octane to a tank of "93", the conservative 22.5psi tune he sent me still breaks up, albeit not as bad as before. This shit is maddening 🤬

Your mix is too thin for the bump up you want. Let's say your 93o is really 91… Mixing 3gal of 100o(0%E) with 11gal of 91o(10%E) yields 14gal of 93o(8%E). Use 2gal 100 with 5gal 91 and you get 93.5o… using 2.5gal of 100 makes 94o. I'm your case I would use the 5+2.5 mix for 94 octane. Alternatively just go to Insinger Fuels and buy a pail of Stinger MC3X (100o pure gas), or Sunoco 260GT (100o 10%E), or VP C20 (97o all gas) or C10 (100o all gas). C20 is probably more economical. With all-pail you will KNOW that fuel quality is there, and let your tuner know so they can see if timing improves. Having too much octane can't hurt unless they juice up the timing above what 93o can handle. If things stay crappy with all pail fuel then see if plug gaps got funky… I've seen gaps shrink after being freshly hand gapped by me, installed, run, and re pulled. Some of my .21s shrunk to .19s.

I did install NGK SILZKBR8F8S's gapped at .020 a couple of months prior, but I may take your advice and recheck the gap this weekend just in case.

Awesome results on this! Any thoughts on this M2 Comp with Nostrum HPFP kits and the Stage 1 injectors they offer? Debating which HPFP to run while also upgrading injectors. Trying to avoid going PI and would really like to utilize Flex Fuel.

I heard that the Stage 1 injectors only flow slightly more than an OEM EU6, but not as much as the EU5. Their unreleased Stage 2 and Stage 3 injectors exceed EU5 (M5). Gotta wait for Stg2 or 3 for big turbos. Stg1 only helps stock turbos on E85 a little.

Just to share some happy with you. I was at the engine lab today and we're getting closer!
New KRAS55EVOs came in, head is all cleaned up, Dorch kit is ready, and EU5s are cleaned/tested and back from RC Fuel Injection. Hopefully I can break it in next month. 👍👍👍
