Final Factory Warranty Visit

I have a 30 Jahre that was manufactured in late 2016 but is obviously a 2017 model year. I had a few goals: Resolve rattles, Replace silver seat badges, and update firmware. Here are the results

Rattles: Due to the great info on the forums I was able to confirm standard rattles. Door lock pins and rear speaker deck. All were confirmed and resolved by dealer under warranty.

Silver badges: They were cracked. I pushed VERY hard to get black. Dealer said no, I went to BMWNA opened a case and was still denied. New silver badges were installed. Upside: The silver badges have the same new short cable with connector wiring as the black badges (see Kies Motorsports YouTube channel for details). So when I buy the black badges it will be a simple connector plugin and done. Should take 5 minutes.

Software: I paid for this because I wanted it. My iStep was F06 (had not been updated since it rolled off the line) and now is F20. HUGE improvement in throttle, DCT, EDC, and steering. I have not tested MDM yet but man what an improvement. Yes I could buy aftermarket updates but I wanted the most recent OEM before I change anything. It was worth it.

I have an aftermarket extended warranty for issues going forward should there be any.

Great info. I’ll keep this in mind when going for my last factory warranty visit.
