New high Volume HPFP

Does anyone have any experience with the Xtreme-Di HPFP? Seems like a simpler albeit more expensive way to add extra fuel vs PI and all that entails. I would expect you would need to add larger injectors as well, but those look to be available.

Generally speaking, I think of HPFP's as somewhat of a PITA to deal with, what with the high psi they deal with and the precise interaction of parts internally. Id rather do PI and leave the stock fueling alone than add bigger injectors and higher flowing HPFP.

I like adding PI cause you can now clean the intake valves

however PI options available are way over priced

I think you guys are looking at this from the wrong angle, the XDI unit has fewer failure points vs an entire PI setup. The XDI unit is also a much more elegant fueling solution than PI.

XDI woudl be much less prone to failure than PI i'd have to imagine. There are a lot of moving parts to PI. Extra controller, which has to be tuned separately, and can fail, tons of extra fuel connectors, extra injectors, etc....

VS basically the stock fuel system, with just 60% more flow capacity. The issue is cost though. They are very expensive. Xtreme-DI has a good reputation, but I haven't seen any reports of someone running it yet either.

In theory. However in my experience ECU controlling an upgraded HPFP can be less than elegant. Also, I'm sure upgrading two HPFP's and buying 6 DI fuel injectors will add up to be more expensive than a PI setup. Add the fact that they'll clean your valves AND you can still drive you car if the PI setup was to fail, and Id definitely stick with port inj.

Although, it is nice to see the development and to each their own.

Openly asking this as I am unsure...would buying the 6 DI injectors even be necessary when using the XDI unit? I have always been under the impression that the major bottleneck was the HPFP.

I only mentioned the injectors because OP did. But I do imagine running upgraded HPFPs you would have to upgrade the LPFP side as well even if you don't have to replace injectors.

I'm in the point of my mods where more fuel is needed atm. This is the 1st I heard of an upgraded HPFP. Anyone else have details or real world results. Following this thread
