Thanks for posting . I also watched the entire video and think he did a good job describing the car.

What your issue with him? Seems to present the most quantified information out there with the least fluff of any reviewer (i.e, instrumented runs on the same course for all cars) ... He further adds his 'geek out' series, but also teams up with Probst who verbally walks you through a track run in real-time.

I really don't really have an issue with Lago, but sorta hard to explain why I don't like him. I find him a bit hubris sometimes. Other times I notice that he tends to recite things the viewer may already know. And yet other times I feel he doesn't really connect with cars emotionally, and seems rehearsed. All of my comments towards Lago seem a little baseless so don't take me too seriously lol. He's alright I guess. |

Appreciate the response, I was just wondering if I was missing something ... and I don't disagree with anything you mentioned. Probably good feedback for Carlos if he's reading!

I feel like as time goes by and everyone gets more drive time, everyone starts to understand the F8X M3/M4 more. I'm sure having driven the E9X M3 for 6 or 7 years and being well versed with it and then jumping into a F8X was a total shock because it was a total change in direction for M cars. Now that people are getting used to the turbo engine and have their ideal chassis settings, it's becoming more and more clear in just how good these M cars are. Sure the sound is still weak compared to the E9X but everything else is just better.

Thanks for posting.
Carlos Lago is pretty annoying. I shouldn't judge but he has a speech impediment that is absolutely like nails on a chalk board to me.

I agree, I like Carlos... He drives a lot of cars and after presenting the facts, he give you his honest opinion (albeit a bit short). He also has a good "TV Personality"... that many others don't. I would say in the US, he is the only one with that quality in the Auto World.

Can't believe I missed this the first time it was posted....
Anyway, thanks (both of you) for posting. I have no particular feelings on Carlos (less about entertainment than other reviewers (Harris, TG) but I also don't think entertainment is necessarily a bad thing). I would think that you could get the same detail and information level if, say, Harris posted a 1 hour video, but that isn't what they are doing. Anyway, appreciated the high level of detail and information in this video. As TheBingoBalls said, what I like about this video (and some of the other comments that are now coming out from reviewers, M, etc) is that people are getting that this is a car with torque and it has to be driven that way. Even in the rain on Road of America he got through it without whining about it as some reviewers have done. Torque just means driving differently and, frankly, most of the time means more fun.

Pobst needs his own show. Lago isn't as technical or knowledgable, and isn't colorful enough to be "the entertaining one." I won't go so far as to say he's a boring version of Clarkson, but he's largely forgettable. |
