BMW ll-04 oil- yes or no

BMW LL-04 rating is approved in europe due to the low sulfur fuel. Older material said to not use LL-04 in USA because the higher sulfur fuels.

Is this still current rule, to avoid LL-04?

I had this same question, if you look at the sulfur content of gas in 2018 you will see it meets the standard to use ll 04. Both USA and Europe are at 10ppm.

Sure but cut the OCI in half. Why? There's a cut out for small entities which give them 3 yrs to come into compliance with Tier 3 (10ppm) among other exceptions. Tier 3 started 1/2017.

Yes, that is correct. If you buy from the major companies there should be no issue.

The car will get annual oil changes before the long life oil change interval is required.
