Leather Ruined from Meguiars Leather Wipes?

Anyone have experience using these wipes? I used 2 wipes yesterday to wipe my leather seats and it seems to have left a "grease" that hasn't gone away. My leather seats now look worse and have a slippery feel instead of the matte texture now

Happened to me too - had to rub them down with a microfiber cloth to try and make it better...look much more decent now.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that. The microfiber cloth made it tolerable short-term. Not at all greasy any more - 2 months out. But I didn't do my seats. I just did my steering wheel and leather inserts in doors. None of that is greasy any longer...

Many products seem to leave a 'greasy' residue behind, which provides no extra protection and just looks bad. Some popular ones that leave a matte, soft finish are Leather Master's, Leatherique, and Connolly's products. Otherwise, you're probably better off just using a damp microfiber towel to keep the leather clean and minimize abrasions.

I recommend chemical guys leather cleaner. Its cleans very well, the best part is its odorless and colorless.

This stuff works good...non-greasy post application and no weird smell. You can definitely tell a difference in leather conditioning as you "slide" into seat after applying.

Thanks for the recommendations. Definitely not using Meguiar wipes anymore. It also left an odor that won't go away =(

That's what I've found. I've pitched a lot of leather cleaning products in the trash after trying them out in one vehicle or another. That BMW leather care kit with the sponges, paper towels and white cream works better than anything I've found.

Get leather cleaner (good one) and that stuff should come off I would think.

I have been using Lexol for at least 15 years and it works very well! It also works well on leather coats and boots. Just apply let is sit for a short while and buff off. I have never had cracking or fading on seats.

Your leather is a porous natural material that needs hydration to stay supple. Something that wipes it and coats it won't hydrate it.

Leatherique is awesome stuff. I know there are probably others that are similar. I've been using Leatherique for about four years having started using it on the softer Portland brown leather on my e60 M5 - much softer than in the M4. It works great, though it is more work than a spray and wipe.

to remove the "greasy" look you can use Leather Master Strong Cleaner and protect with Leather Master Protection Cream.

This will leave a matte oem finish

Lexol products work for me. I use Meguiars leather cleaner at times also, but never the wipes.
