Track insurance for Car Control Clinic
Hey all - what is the general temperature here on track insurance for Car Control Clinic type events? This will be my first one, so not sure what to expect. Having been to a few HPDE’s before and having track insurance, I understand the value of track insurance there.
How are folks thinking about insurance for CCC’s? |

You'd be better off posting the question in the track subforum, but I don't see why not. The likelihood of an accident is quite small in a ccc, but the peave of mind can be worth it

Question- does it cost the same to insure a track day as it does a car control clinic? |

Insurance is totally unnecessary for CCC. I did one of those and I don't think I'll do another. Too much tire wear for too little in return. Perhaps the skidpad instructors were not great. I retrospect, going slowly and kicking the throttle is the way to go instead of going fast and fighting understeer as hell.

Thanks for the responses all, will post it in the track sub-forum as well.
Existing tires approaching end of life, figured this would be a good way to send them off while (hopefully) learning some thing. |

FWIW, I did the previous CCC at LRP with my M3 back in January and as others have mentioned, they will run you in small groups (4/5 cars at a time on the Autocross track) and you will be spread out. Good that you're running a set of tires that are close to the end of their cycle. When I went, I didn't get additional insurance and at no point was I close to any other vehicles. Have fun, its a good time if you like sliding around!
