Nice time at Laguna!

Buttonwillow is all about gaining confidence through some of the higher speed turns and using all of the available track. You'll start slicing that time down the more you drive it. It's an excellent baseline for your first time out.

I'm on a break and focusing on my businesses at the moment, but I will be back in early 2019 I hope. It's still fun to follow everyone's progress.

Heading back up to Laguna in October, need to get that 9668 BBK on.

If you don’t mind sharing, would appreciate your data from Laguna. NT01 data, slick time is completely out of reach.

Oh snap, someone else tracking in Colorado! Haven't been to PMP in a hot minute, looked like a pretty low traffic day. BMW CCA day?

Of course. My best time with NT01s was 1:39.83. That was NT01s, coilovers, and DS1.11 pads. I was still new to Laguna at that point, so I would think a high 1:38 would be possible with that setup on an ideal lap.

Yes, RMBMWCCA HPDE, think had 12 in run group B that I was in. I went to the spring HDPE at High Plains also. Will be doing again next year.

Need some others to get times at these two tracks in this thread to see how much I need to improve.

I'm aiming for my first HPR outing this month, if I don't crack a 2:00 I'll be pretty disappointed in myself. I've whipped a ~95whp Miata around that track on 200tw tires in the 2:15.xx range many times. I'll add the BMWCCA events to my calendar, I'll be out there in my GTS.

edit: oh my, RMBMWCCA only has 2 track events per year. Guess it'll just be a lot of open lapping.

I was the first out of the pits on the second session of the day and was able to get a clean first lap, got a fast lap despite the tires being still cold. I beat my previous best by over half a second, which now makes my M4cs well over 2 seconds faster than my previous M4 on the same tires. Pretty amazing

Nice! Good to see an "apples to apples" comparison of the CS vs. "civic" model with same tires and same mods... And congrats on personal best!

Unfortunately the video is pretty terrible thanks to some poor white balance... This car has soo much potential and is an absolute hoot!

Nice lap time! The Contis and 2500s must have been feeling it lol.

Would be nice to see a overlay with speeds. I'm interested to see how much the stage 1 improves Vmax for the F8X.

Haha the 2500's actually didn't feel too terrible, I was super impressed. I would only do like 2 flyers max though, would maybe have tried going a little harder if I swapped fluid (I had it with me in case haha). Really pumped to see what the DS1-11 do's!

The tire pressure display showed 200deg on the driver side front at one point lol. I was running close to 40psi to keep them from shredding the shoulders. They actually didn't feel horrible and communicated really well.

My data and video was such crap from this event... I want to say I was around 130ish into the kink, 130ish into T1, 120ish into T2.

I’m a CO guy as well. I meant to reply to this thread earlier. I’ve been to HPR, PMP, and PPIR (and La Junta), many times in several cars over the years. I really like PMP, I think T1-T8 flow better than HPR.

I got rid of my E92 M3 at the beginning of the year and bought a F80 M3 in March.

I was at HPR this morning for a half day. There was a Lemons race this weekend, so tons of really slow traffic, it was tough to get open laps and get into a rhythm. I don't have video, but my best was 1:56.154. I had two runs back to back that had a TBL (Theoretical Best Lap) of a 1:54.5, I'm usually closer to ~.5 sec off TBL, traffic was intense.

Also added my time at HPR in April with the same setup but on Continental ECS. I was expecting to go a little quicker today because of much quicker tires, and I think clear laps would have netted a low 55/high 54s realistically.

I ran into Dogbone at HPR this morning as well, what are the odds? He's a cool guy with a relatively stock E92 out here (compared to his beast in CA), I was jealous of the awesome V8 noises his car makes compared to my new one.

Track: High Plains Raceway (9/13/2019)
Best Lap Time:1:56.154

Car: 2016 F80 M3 DCT
Suspension: KW Clubsports
Brakes: PFC-08 Pads Front/Rear
Mods: VRSF downpipes, JB4 Map 3, KN filters, Race Seats, APR Front Lip, Zebulon Rear Wing
Tires: 285/30/18 Bridgestone RE71Rs on FL5 18x10.5 Front/Rear

Track: High Plains Raceway (4/8/2019)
Best Lap Time:1:56.3 (only have video of 1:56.7)

Car: 2016 F80 M3 DCT
Suspension: KW Clubsports
Brakes: PFC-08 Pads Front/Rear
Mods: VRSF downpipes, JB4 Map 3, KN filters, Race Seats, APR Front Lip, Zebulon Rear Wing

I ran at LRP with SCDA on 9/12. My second time there (first was 2 years ago), and the weather was cool, with pouring rain in the morning, so I wasn't expecting much... Didn't even bother setting up the GoPro. But by the last session, the line was mostly dried out, and I recorded some respectable times with RaceChrono.

Autobahn Country Club - North Course:

1:20.50 - Powerslide M3 ZCP (RE71R, Pagid RS29).

Conditions were still pretty damp - lots of traffic in intermediate group due to last-minute switch from South Track to North Track (more than 10 cars per mile).

For my skill level that's a decent time - good news is I know I could be a little faster with more ideal conditions (that's what always keeps us coming back, right)??!!!?

Ah nice. Won't be long until you destroy my :56 lol. I wish I would have went there in the spring when the temperatures were cooler, definitely could have gotten myself into the :55s or lower. I'm sure you'll be down in the :53s at some point.

Edit: Maynard is slacking with the lap list! C'mon man!

Palmer Motorsports Park

1:47.7 - dvas (RE71R 275 square, Bilstein PSS10, Camber Plates, PFC 08)

Was at Palmer Motorsports Park in Massachusetts with BMWCCA CT Valley & Patroon over last weekend. Had a great time with a fun group of guys and a good student. With brand new tires for the weekend, posted a new personal best while playing with an E92 race prepped car. Best lap time of the weekend was in this session at 1:47.742. Was in the 1:47 - 1:48 range all weekend. Theoretical best lap was a 1:46.1. I think 1:45s are possible with the car/setup. Just need to smooth out the driving and push the braking zones a bit.
