Wow! We have similar tastes. What color did you go on the interior? My top two individual choices were Atlantis and Daytona. However, I didn't want to cough up the $5k for paint plus a longer wait.

No they won't, it is on the list of forbidden colors. I prefer Daytona, but feel your pain. Rumor has it that they are looking to formulate Techno Violet II without the lead or whatever it is that is preventing them from doing for you.

I am now upset. I came to terms I couldn't get the color I wanted and went with MW...

Now all I can think about is I could of had a Techno Violet if I waited.

No you couldn't, as of now it is a rumor. Techno Violet is a hard no. Daytona is available if you fight for it.

How are some people getting their production started already? I placed my order on 8/1 and still no production date. I was just told October build but car still in status 112.

My order was placed 8/4 and my car will be here to my dealer on Monday.

WOW! That sucks! Placed my order on 8/27 got production # on 9/2 and build started on 9/23.I was told that it being painted now... Almost there I guess

You placed your order, but did the dealer have an open allocation? October build could be starting 10/31. Call your CA and inquire.

When you order has nothing to do with when you get your car. It has everything to do with the build week your allocation was. So if you have a week 40 build week (first week of october), it doesn't matter if you ordered August 1st, or September 20th. Your car is still going to finish production week 40 first week of october.

No, build week means the week your production will finish, so a build starting oct 31 would actually be a november production week.

Thanks for the feedback gents. I was given a production number and was told week 43 production and delivery around late November. I have by far the worst CA, he knows nothing about M models and is just unmotivated to make this sale.

Going to add my schedule thus far to try to help others maybe understand their expected timeline.

This is for an M4 with no individual paint or leather. It looks like the production took about 10 days from start to finish.

9/28 - Car started production
10/7 - Car goes into paint
10/8 - Car enters Assembly Finish/Quality Check
10/9 - Car officially finishes production, begins trip to port
???? - Transport
12/8 - Tentative Performance Center Delivery date

I'm hoping for a courtesy delivery instead, however. After arriving at port, I was told that it will take approximately 1-2 weeks for the MSO (Manufacturer Statement of Origin) to make it to my dealer so the car can be registered.

This wait is killing me. I need to put this out of my mind or something -- checking this every few hours is just torture. Driving my 335 is getting harder and harder, knowing I have an M4 built and waiting to come to its new home.

I'm just goin to check every 15 days.....ok fine. Lies. No way I can do that. I didn't think I'd be this anxious over my new toy. I check everyday even if I know production alone is 10 days. I need to find a new hobby for the next 2 months or I'm going to lose it - it also doesn't help that my brother got his M4 delivered 2 weeks ago...well, it does in a way cause I'm happy he is enjoying it and loves his BMS CanFlap module, Swift springs and AWE exhaust. Exact same mods I'm getting....
