Any reason to keep OEM mid pipe?

I'm getting ready to install the AA mid-pipe and just realized I'll have to do something with the stock one. I don't really have the space to store it. I can only think of needing the stock one if I hate the sound of the AA pipe or when I sell the car and the dealer/buyer wants to return back to stock. Maybe I take a big ding for it not being stock when I sell it?

I'm honestly thinking of trashing the OEM version. I'm guessing I can probably find a used stock when if I need it down the road.

you can always buy locally the oem pipe again. if you're gonna toss give to a recycler. or post up for free local someone will take it even for scrap.

sounds like you already thought this through.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do.

BTW - I getting ready to start the project today. Once I had the car on jack stands I just got too nervous of spending much time under the car. Call me a pu@#y.

I'm going to have someone do the install for me. I can't imagine it should cost too much.

i put my stock parts back on the car prior to selling it and sell my aftermarket parts on the forums. You get a good amount back as long as you have a lot of parts.

if its only one part, its not worth it as the labor cost vs resale value will be too high

I keep mine handy because I have the space and may need it for SMOG at some point. Can’t imagine the stock exhaust is going to be a major selling point to a buyer down the road

Interesting point you bring up. I'm assuming mid pipe has no impact on passing emissions? I'm keeping the primary DP's.

I'm in CA (soon to be MA) and over here it's usually a plug into OBD-II and you're good to go - as you said, the sensors are on the primary cats. However, CA may do CA things and in the case that I'm ever faced with a particulate measurement, I like having it handy. Really, that's an easy decision as I have plenty of space and have it propped up behind some storage shelves so it takes up virtually no horizontal space at all.
