Autotechnic issues

So I got a stick in my ass and I am going to do some digging. I have a major issue when a vendor sells crappy product and will not stand behind it. Remember PokGuy? Anybody know what connection he has with Autotecknic? He was selling new Autotechnic product on here and it was direct shipped from them. His PayPal was Jay Ma. So out of curiosity I contacted Jeremy & Gordon directly with my quality issue and they refuse to support it even though it is only a couple months old and I am the original purchaser and have proof of purchase. When I let them know who sold it to me they completely ghosted me. So....... I have the curiosity bug. So does anybody know Jay Ma or PokGuy? Could it be Jeremy at Autotechnic?

I have had 3 quality issues over the years with BMW stuff sold to me by a vendor....each time the Manufacturer took care of it, 1 was Vorsteiner, 2 was BMS & 3 was IND. Kudos guys

This Autotecknic group well.......

Moderators.... I am all ears

Let me guess, the clear coat is peeling off?

I dont know their story but that sucks to hear. It could be that person might have a discount or a gift card with Autotecknic and used it to buy parts for you? So the profit that Autotecknic normally makes to cover customer service/warranty issues was pocketed by Pokguy. Just thinking out loud...

The guy's username was PokGuy? All the Chinese speaking folks on the board are probably face palming.

Damn, that's some shit parts. Even the split doesn't line up with the deck lid lines. My amazon spoiler lasted over a year in the Florida sun and it's still as it were new.

Autotecknic products are just very well marketed and premium-ish priced cheap ass china products. I commend them on how well they have placed themselves in consumers eyes, but my experience has been that they are no better than the products on ebay or the ali sites.

get what you pay for. i have an oem m performance front end, rw carbon wing, and autotecknic diffuser. The oem piece was by far the highest quality. RW and Autotecknik are 'ok' in quality and fitment was 9/10. For the money its a good deal. Mine is not a daily so the clear is holding up fine.

if you want to daily a car with those parts then i'd make sure to get them ceramic coated so they stand up to the sun and elements better.

Mine is a daily but it is garage kept and parking garage. Also to note..... My 1st M4 has RW carbon on to for 3 years and never suffered anything like this

Autotecknic is useless. I bought a set of CF mirror caps from a vendor (nice company) that sell AT caps. First set had a finish issue, but fit fine. Replacement set had good finish but one cap wouldn't snap into the clips. Instead of sending me a better one they said I have no clue how to install the caps (this is AT saying this, not the vendor I bought from-he was simply the middle guy). I can install a pair in under 2 minutes.

They are garbage, no QA, and even worse customer service. Yes, you may as well spend less and get a chinese knock off, because it probably rolled of the same line.

Makes me wonder how a respected vendor like IND can offer AT.

Yeah. Was considering AT since IND sold their stuff. I figured IND wouldn't sell subpar products.

i bought 3 products from autotecknic, 1x1 antenna cover was perfect

then mirror caps won't fit and i broke a tab when taking it off. They refused to accept the return but after some negotiation i took a 100 bucks loss for the return. They are definitely behind on replying until i had to file paypal claim before they reach back to me (which was a week after multiple emails sent).

lately I bought a set of cf side markers and they won't fit either, I've been on an adventure to get a return (2 weeks now), took a while until they responded by telling me it's definitely not a quality issue and i'm not pushing it in to the side vent hard enough and i was like any further i'd break it and then i'll get 0 refund. I just got the return instruction but don't know how this will end or if i'll take another loss from this return.

Clear coat peeling has happened to me with a number of brands. Latest one with RW Carbon brand mirror caps (little under a year old)

Great fit and they looked great, but then one day, the clear coat started to go. There are no warranties beyond the 30 days after purchase, so you have to go pound sand.

On the other hand, I have had very good results with BMW Carbon parts. No problem with the clear coat.

I guess you get what you paid for. Lesson learned.

The thing is, if it happens to you, you do not have any recourse, even if you kept your car in a bubble. I guess is the luck of the draw, and I drew the short stick in this instance.

Your mileage may very, but if it happens to you, there is very little you can do about it.

That's why you buy OEM. 2 year warranty on defects includes clear coat.

Glad to read that Autoteknic has quality issues consistently before my purchase. I was considering their CF grill surrounds, but reconsidering after reading this thread.

Got their diffuser a few days ago. Fitment is comically terrible and I already ordered a replacement from a different brand. Live and ya learn I guess...
