Josh, not sure if you ever got it fixed but the intercooler reservoir tends to snap at the seam and slowly leak right onto the mud pan below; and then the engine heat evaporates it. This is why sometimes you don't see any leaks on the floor.
Had that happen to me on my M4 and ended up getting it replaced right after it went out of warranty. Cost me about $900 at the dealer.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Marco
You bash a post that is almost 4 years old and ignore the exchanges that took place after it? Truly amazing. Happy New Year mate!!

This multi-year old post was helpful to me yesterday. Checked fluid levels and found my engine coolant a bit low, maybe 1/4-1/2" below the bottom marker. Topped it up. No signs of residue. No i-drive warnings. Inter-cooler level was perfect.

Also helpful for me too. Just checked my coolant a bit low as well. Intercooler level was perfect as well. No i-drive warning and slight residue around the cap but i cleaned that up. Was initially difficult to remove the cap but after the first time, no problems afterwards.

Topped up with about 4.2 cups of 50/50 coolant/distilled water.

Is topping off a couple cups normal after 2 oil changes? I've had my car since 3k miles and previous owner did maintenance at the dealer.

4.2 cups sounds like a lot to need to add.
