Interior makes me think of a fancy ass boat in a good way. Shoes off when you get in and license plates from the Caymans.

Almost done with the exterior! Added a 3d replica diffuser and painted it satin black to match the ABS plastic of the front lip and slide skirts. Fit was fine. Mulling over a GTS hood now. Thoughts on taking the spoiler off?

She's so fucking classy. The GTS hood would be next level I fully support it.

The diffuser is a very nice touch.

Definitely should do the hood!

Yellow brake calipers courtesy of yours truly!

The one clever thing I did was take a big plastic bag and cut a small hole in one of the closed corners. Then I put the bag around the caliper/rotor and stretched the hole around the caliper to get a good seal.

That said, I screwed up a lot.
  1. I forgot to mask one calipers pads and got a tack coat of primer on it.
  2. I (my wife actually) made the paint run on one of the coats
  3. I tried to fix the above and made it worse
  4. I'm ambivalent about the white logo on yellow. Up close I like it, but sometimes I think I'd like more contrast.
  5. I took off the masks and somehow scuffed or dirtied a dried job on one of the calipers

From 10 feet away it all looks fine. I'm sure some of you are wondering how I can justify a $5k paint job and then rattle-can my calipers. Sadly, I don't have an answer for you.

Yep. High temp primer, paint, and clear coat.

Change out your brake pads. Brake dust will go down like crazy. Very cheap mod. Just make sure to get ceramic brake pads. Stopping power stays the same, but brake dust is almost none existent. This way your wheels will stay nice and clean for a while. With OEM Brake pads, after 10 miles of driving, the wheels are covered in dust.

Good job on painting the calipers yourself. I painted mine on my e46 m3 and my e53 x5. Both times, went with white calipers. It is not easy to paint and get it perfect. Especially when everything stays on the car.

Great color combo on the car!!!!

Still with me! Plan on keeping it for the long haul. Want to contribute to the mod fund?
