I'm keeping mine until something better comes along that I can afford. Probably going to be quite awhile.

I am actually still happy with this car after 4+ years (new high score for me).

Thanks to the G82, looks like I'll be keeping this one a lot longer...

Keep it for as long as it puts a smile on your face every time you step on the throttle.

I've had my 5-1/2 years now. I'm not one of those who thinks they have to have a new car every 2 or 3 years. If the G82 is as ugly in person as it appears in leaked photos on the Internet, I'll take a pass and keep my F82. If I had room in my garage for another car, I would probably get on the list for a Corvette C8 and yes, keep my my F82 M4.

to each their own, but I asked for my 718 GT4 deposit back a few months ago. I was #2 in line and it was time to order, but I couldn't order knowing C8z06 was around the corner and will be an absolute beast

I've also had a modded 996 turbo for a couple of years now, and it has been a lot of fun. I guess I'm going through a phase where a mid engined, high power naturally aspirated V8 feels like more of an upgrade than another Porsche

I lease, so I keep my cars for 36 months. Except for the X5 that I had prior to this CS. Got rid of that after 24 months because the A/C was so horrible. Luckily, timing was on my side as the deals on the CS were insane.

Any reason for not keeping the cs? What would you go next

I absolutely love the CS. Probably the best M car I have had in a long time (had an F10 M5 before the X5 and a few M3s prior to that).

Sadly, the residual on the CS is $58k and I just don't think it will be worth that in another 18 months when the lease ends.

Right now, the X5M Comp has my eye. With 3 kids under the age of 11 the M3 is kinda small and a part of me dies each time my daughter says that she likes my wife's minivan better because they have more room.

I'm #1 on the list for the M5 CS, should that ever come out, but who knows what that will even be like.

18 months left on the lease so I am sure I will change my mind a lot while trying to figure out what to get next.

This is interesting topic...

Just recently I was contemplating... My car is 2016 and currently 7700 miles on the clock. My commute to work is only a mile and I drive it every couple of days and on the weekends, I try to put on about 30 miles or so.

I've taken pristine care and I can't see myself selling this car... but (everyone knows how it goes... us car guys... always looking).

I've had many different vehicles but keep coming back to M car... perhaps this is a sign and keep this car for a little while...

Time for a 1000hp hummer EV

Fill it up with family, haul your stuff, and accelerate with an m5 from a stop light.

I’m drooling with anticipation for something like that to be my dog + family hauler and tow rig

Right now my plan is to keep the car for a total of 6 years. I have a 2018 CP MG M3 that I picked up on lease and it's used only as a weekend and warm weather car. Therefore, the car only gets around 4500 miles a year. So far the car has @13k miles on it.

My lease is up at the end of Jan 2021 at which point I plan to purchase it and take out a 3 yr loan.

Once that's up I expect the car will only have about 30k miles. My goal is to work my way into a 911 turbo.

is it dct? has it been overall reliable over those 4 years and was it daily driven?

the reliability of this car is going to determine whether i keep it for the next 2 years or the next 5 years. More about hating having a daily driver in the shop/dealer versus the actual cost as i have an extended warranty.

40k+ miles and the only issue I have had was the intercooler had a minor leak that was replaced under warranty. The car has been beyond reliable needing only regular maintenance

Keeping it (or getting another f8x) until Bmw makes another generation of good looking m3/m4s

I lease a new car every three years. I own a business so this works for me. This is my third M car. I had a 2013 E92, a 2016 F82, and now have a 2020 F82. I'll probably lease the G82 in a couple years.

(No surprise there with the original warranty being 4 years lol) Word on the street from people who kept it past 50-80k+ miles is their cars been super reliable. Just thought I'd ask as sometimes I wonder as well..

If I'm parked anywhere for longer than 15 minutes 50% of the time someone will compliment the car.

Some don't know or see M3's and they'll ask what's an M3.

So yeah I'll be keeping this 2016 F80.

If the G80 looks good and I can get a Sunroof and 6 speed and full leather and it's in my budget I'll get one.

If it looks as good as the F80!

Once the dust settles a few months into the production of the G8x M, this is how it's going to be. Always lease the newest M car because why wouldn't you, given how good M car leases tend to be. That's how it is with almost every BMW release there is.

6MT

Zero problems thus far. :knockonwood:

I only drive about 4k miles per year though.... I'm just a tad under 20k miles right now.

When I "connect" with a car I keep it. I've got an '03 e46 M3 and and '09 997.1 911 Turbo. I love the F80 styling and the small mods I've done to it. I plan on keeping it forever.

I would love to add a mid-engine sports car to the stable once the F80 gets paid off.

Usually keep any given car until factory warranty runs out, but I love the F80 so much that I am planning to buy extended warranty and keeping an additional 2 years from now. Time wise, anywhere from 2-4 years.

Forever. I'm aggressively paying off my 16' in 2 years.
After it's paid for, I'm adding a 18' ZCP DCT in Tanzanite Blue. For me it'll be 2 of each to tinker with, 6 speed stripper base model, and a loaded Comp package with DCT.
