We missed that, but then went to my sisters in Sacramento and then to an outdoor wedding up by the fire in Clearlake. It was plenty hot in both places, especially all dressed up.

Thankfully we have solar panels installed so we can keep our A/C on.

A/C has been on for now, 3 days straight without us even touching it. This weather is insanity.

So, how's your summer going?!

I'll recap my highlights!

In June our tiny dog started throwing up everything, and my mother told the kids to be aware: " your momma has a tendency to kill things before their time".

Well, needless to say, the kids have been panicking over Rabies, he's been in bad condition, and it has taken a ton of effort to get him better but that stupid dog is not helping.

Anyway, because of that, Kissa's weirdo symptoms have been undetected mostly. She's been at times a bit weird, but I was too busy trying to keep the kids dog alive to pay more attention.

Well, today the boys were coming back in, and later hubby said the dog seemed to be absent completely for a bit, before she charged towards the tiny dog.

My kids were in the hallway. It took two of us to get her off of the tiny dog. The tiny dog got a bruise and scratch, so he is fine, if we forget the underlying illness which still have not been explained to the satisfaction of anyone.

I took Kissa to the vet, she got a scan, and her brain shows anomalities. She is trained to take down an adult so there is no waiting or treating option. Again, we have kids.

I drove back home, the dog is back to normal now, the vet offered to get her file to a specialist but again, kids.

I let the kids say goodbye to her, then I sent the rest of the family to the cabin and tomorrow evening she will be put down.

I'll do the crying and wailing yomorrow, but I wanted to let you know. Let's never talk about this again.

Gawd, that sucks as you know our family just went through that. My summer is going better and FWIW I 100% agree with your decision regardless of the kids, but especially since you have young children. I love German Shepherds and they are one of my favorite breeds, but when they go rogue, really bad things can happen as you obviously know.

Yeah, if she can trip down an adult male, it'll take 7 seconds for her to kill a child. She is wonderful to kids, and adults, even other dogs but with her condition and her training there IS no option where I can either give her away and pay for her treatments for her new owner, or isolate her ( a Shepherd!) To take care of her. There is none.

This was a rough day to the kids since the dog is fine in their eyes, and my mom just told them I like killing things others love. There just is no option b. The treatments if she was isolated from the kids would still be painful and a gs in pain is a real weapon, without a safety.

She is my bitch, so it is my duty to make sure she gets an end.

Wanna bet Minnie that in less than two weeks the other dog also drops dead? That would make this a summer of winning!!

I remember you had to put yours down too. Thank coffee Myz got a dog or this ssott crew would be fur free soon!


Oh, I couldn't tell the kids there were marks in her brain. The c word, and tumor and we'll sick is not something I bring up after the whole daddy dying and Lili stopping reading for 4.5 years...

Rick Wilson is pretty entertaining.

Like everything else, the Strzok testimony would have been a major multi-day story for any other presidency, here it was a few hours of a news cycle, quickly replaced by NATO, then his Sun interview, then Mueller's indictments, then the Queen thing, London protests, now Helsinki.....

.....and it is still more politically viable for GOP congressfolks to support him (or modestly chastise him without any concrete follow up) than to actually try to stop him.
