Black valve stems and wheel weights
Does anyone have experience finding black replacement valve stems and wheel weights? I am swapping my tires and I figure this would be a good time to swap out the last couple bits of non-black on the car.
I am not sure if the valve stems are separate from the TPMS or not. I see stems and wheel weights on Amazon but I dont want to make sure I am not getting junk. |

Search google for "BMW M3 Huf TPMS Sensor Set 36106881890 433MHz". You can get the TPMS and black valve stems as a set. But, if you're just looking for the black valve stems that are compatible with the HUF Intellisense 36106881890 sensors, these are the ones I got and worked. Did you try contacting Apex wheels? They use color matched hardware like this for their wheels when you buy from them, but I'm not sure if they sell it piecemeal

Contact TPMS dot com.
There are two different replacement stems available (not just the collar)… The HUF stems have a carriage bolt (smooth rounded head, square shoulder) holding the stem to the sensor. The HUF Intellisense have a hex head bolt (hex inset on a smooth rounded bolt, round shoulder) holding the stem to the sensor. If you describe it to them you'll get the right part. About $40 for a set of four.

I ordered the sensors linked about and had ASAP Tires (A business entity owned by Tire rack) mount and balance my tires in the driveway. For the same price as taking them to a shop they had them done in 35 minutes and I didn't need to transport 4 wheels and tires anywhere. I spoke to the technician and he had black and silver wheels weights to roughly match the wheels.

Did they road-force balance, or spin balance? This sounds very convenient and might be a choice I pick next time…

They had hunter equipment mounted in the truck. To my knowledge, road force balancing is still soon balancing, the intention is to offset the heaviest part of the tire with the heaviest part of the wheel to minimize the amount of balancing weights. I didn't watch but I can tell you there aren't many weights on the wheels so they did a solid job. In total it was around $30 per wheel. If you are getting new tires on wheels that are mounted on the car already, they will also remove wheels and tires and reinstall. Since my wheels were new I just had the tires mounted and installed them on the car myself.
