I think you are ok. I recently took out the trunk liner and insulation from my m4 and I was surprised that I could not see holes in the strut towers from where the struts would usually get fastened from. I say this because for a lot of cars, even the e9x I believe, when swapping struts, you need to get inside the trunk and loosen them from the shock towers. With the F8x I saw no such way to do this so I'm assuming the entire swap is done under the car. If that's the case, I don't see how the rear shock towers, at least, would have this issue
