Random AC/Heater question

So as far as I can remember, I've suspected that my F80's AC/Heater doesn't work as it should.

When I set the temperature to 60 degrees, the air is cold - so far so good. As I go up in temperature from 61 to 83, the air coming out of the vents go from coolish to room temperature-ish. When I finally get to 84 degrees, the air suddenly gets hot.

What gives?

What are the actual cabin temps when you do this? Get a thermometer and check.
