LCI climate controls retrofit trim doesn't fit?

I did the mod to retrofit the LCI climate controls and surround into my 2015 M4. Coded it to switch from white to orange at night, and everything is working as it should...BUT. I can't get the cupholder light trim to snap back in place. It feels like it clicks in, but then it just pops back out. Am I just being a wimp, and I need to push harder, or did the clip pattern change on the LCI surround? I read someone say the LCI trim is a tighter fit, but I just wanted to double check that there wasn't something obvious I was missing before I go pressing on it too hard.
