Who has experience with OBD port security?

Hi all,

After selling my F30 335i and E46 M3 I just got myself a new M4 in individual tanzanite blue. Very happy with the machine, just great.

Have a question on protection systems, as here in the Netherlands it is a hype to steal airbags, satnav systems and headlamps. I have a so-called class 5 alarm system in place (with GPS tracking etc.), however this is apparently not good enough in protection for theft of parts. I understand they break into the car, switch off the alarm through the OBD port and start unscrewing the parts...

What kind of protection do you guys have experience with?

For instance:
- Moving OBD port
- Adding dummy OBD port?
- OBD port locks
- Decals with OBD port disabled
- adding accessories to alarm (such as sensors for breaking glass, proximity sensor, other siren, etc....)
- other...?

All your ideas and experiences are very welcome!

Many thanks!
