After the past few years in a black on black M5 that was pretty much invisible to all except a handful of people I did the knee jerk reaction of ordering a superman M4 Do I have second thoughts like "What did I just do?!?!" Yep. In fact I'm having them now lol. But we'll see. Every time I see one on the road it doesn't just catch my eye like AY or SO, the YMB actually makes me feel like a kid again looking at cars. I think others mentioned that giddy kid feeling when referring to this color on the car as well.

YMB's grown on me. Coming from Laguna Seca Blue on my E46, I thought it was a bit "pale" and "baby-blue" at first, but now I like it.

I did end up with a Sakhir, which I think it just stunning. If you're looking for something "exotic", that should be your choice

My little story and remember this is all my opinion and my crazy color selection process...lol.

I was set on YMB but then I saw this in a parking lot....

My very first thought was "I do not like this color" Then I went down another aisle in the same parking lot and saw this....

And I loved it instantly....

That told me that I am not a fan of YMB. To me, it is just too pastel. Also, I think it looks better on an M3 rather than an M4 but I've never seen it on an M3 with this color in person. This is all IMO. Maybe it will grow on me?

I love Sakhir because I think out of all the colors, it has the MOST multiple personalities. The reason why I'm on the fence is because the color is available on other models (M5/M6). Decisions, decisions.......

With that said, I really don't mind it looking that pale to be honest. I sort of dig it.
In all fairness, the sun was hitting that side of the car directly (as you can see in the picture) which probably effected my opinion as well.

I put my order in going off of what I've seen on the road and in pictures and was dead set on it until I passed by a dealer with a YMB M4 in the showroom. Needless to say I quickly pulled over and went to take a look. It was on the floor with a Long Beach Blue X5 and an Estoril Blue M235i. To be honest, of the three colors, the YMB was my least favorite which made me panic. I called the dealer to hold off on color until I see more of it in different lighting. I love it but I don't like it . I'm sure a bunch of people here feel the same way. Here's a pic of it on the showroom floor.

How much of the time or what conditions does it look pale like this one? It's when it's like this I'm not a fan. All the other pics where it is darker I love it!

I 100% agree which is why I think I didn't like it. In all fairness, the sun was coming up (around 8:30 in the morning) and it was beaming on the passenger's side of the car as you can see. I should've taken some pictures on the driver's side to compare/contrast. A buddy of mine is going to let me check out his YMB F80 tomorrow, I'll be sure to grab some more pics.

Regret this? No way
Looks fantastic in the sun!
What you guys see as pale/chalky in the pictures, is because of the white (not silver!) glitter in this colour. This brings out the great design-curves of the car beautiful. Especially in the sun.

Just saw my first ever YMB M3 on my way to work today. Looked fantastic! Still think I'll be ordering a SO M4, but YMB does look great in person!

I couldn't be happier with my YMB after 2 months. People still smile and wave when they see it.. It has this "everybody's happy!" effect on anyone around it. Best color ever! I do think it looks dramatically better with all of the M performance bits on it... Makes it pop and look less "washed out".

Just in my opinion, SS interior is freaking awesome, but I'll do the silver wheels with it. If you prefer the black wheels, black interior would suit it best I think. I went with the later

IMO, YMB is too "boy racer" for me. I think the M3 deserves some more color options fitting a $70K to $80K vehicle, but thats just my opinion.

I am a fan of the dark grays, it's classy, understated, and sophisticated. I also think SO is an awesome "In your face" color as well if you want to go that route.

I love my YMB M4 not one regret at all! I get nothing but compliments and as long as it's got the black wheels/grills/carbon fiber pieces to compliment it then it's def gonna less "smurfy"
Don't get why people are spending extra money to change up what's already being offered its an original M color
