jsplayin - F80 M3 Euro Delivery 10/2014

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I will try to keep this brief and concise. My ED was awesome!

10/22 Lufthansa flight from Boston to Munich overnight. Nicest plane I've been in.

10/23 Arrived in Munich. Picked up by Sixt in a 7 series by a gentleman of few words but a heavy foot. Straight to Welt for factory tour and museum. Stayed at Anna Hotel which we liked, it was clean, room was modern, no nasty carpets, comfortable beds, right across the street from entrance to Marienplatz and train station. Location was perfect.

10/24 Pick up M3 at 9:30AM, delivery associate was Nicole and she was very cool, no unnecessary instructions here. After pick up we got our bags at hotel and drove straight to Lake Como. We took E54/E43/E35 to Como and drove SS36 around Lake Como to arrive in Varenna. Was a little nervous in the high altitude section between Splugen and Nufenen as temps dropped from 50s to low 30s very quickly while road was glossy from moisture and Michelin PSS on car. Driving SS36 around the lake was very enjoyable. Stayed at Eremo Gaudio hotel in Varenna. The road to get to the hotel was long narrow and steep, but made it without issue, private parking at hotel was great. Hotel has unbelievable view, rooms basic but very clean, no nasty carpets, beds somewhat uncomfortable.

10/25 Explored Lake Como, took ferry from Varenna to Mennagio to Bellagio. Varenna was very beautiful but quiet, Mennagio we didn't like much in comparison, Bellagio was very beautiful also but more lively with shops and people. Lake Como was probably one of my favorite places I've been to, very happy we went.

10/26 Left Lake Como early and drove to Neuschwanstein Castle. Daylight Savings in Europe was a week earlier than at home, so got an unwelcome surprise in the AM and our schedule was an hour late. Arrived in Fussen when sun was almost setting, after seeing the castle drove back to Munich.

10/27 Wash car at Agip by the airport, drop off, fly home.

First off, congrats! Second, you had the same spot as me for delivery, almost the exact same config (except I have ext SO), went to Como and Neuschwanstein. Bringing back great memories. Thanks for the pics and hope you had an amazing trip.

The scenery alone is worth the trip, let alone receiving an M3 to enjoy it in. Incredible! Thank you for this post!

That is AW.....almost positive. Beautiful car, scores points for the M3 in mental battle over which model to purchase next year.
