Another M4 Carfax Inspection

Hey guys,

So I'm looking into a used M4 and need you guys to look at a carfax for me and give me guidance. The carfax is below. I dont see anything on here too crazy but maybe I'm missing something.

As for me, I just sold my C7 Corvette Z51 and am looking into something more comfortable. The M4 would probably end up being my daily. It might get one to two track days a year and will definitely be taken on long road trips. Is an M4 doable with those needs? Outrageous running costs? I'm actually also shopping 2019 Kia stinger gt2s oddly enough. They make much more sense practically with the size, the features, the running cost and the warranty. I've always wanted an M4 though. It would definitely be an emotional decision if I chose it over the stinger.

Thanks in advance guys

Rear bumper was probably painted.

The "damage found" listing is from when the car was ran at auction. Most auctions run cars through a pre-sale inspection to find any defects or issues. They probably found the underside of the front bumper scuffed (as all M's are lol).

Technically this carfax is "dirty" as it has damage reported. But if you're going to keep it for some time who cares? Its worth a little less than typical asking price however due to its history.

Better to pass on this one. Any damage on carfax will make it hard to sell it in the future.

For the amount of mileage the car has they are asking to much for the car.

Hey guys,

Just got back. It's a hard pass. The dealership was ghetto and they are asking way too much. Very pushy.

I'm looking at another one in Miami. Austin Yellow 31k miles. No accidents in its carfax (below). The one in Miami is at a BMW dealership and I'd look to get a 2 year warranty added on for 1700 extra or whatever.

As for the car itself. Pros: it's beautiful to look at, its fast as hell, great sound system, build quality is solid. Cons: no adaptive suspension so it was pretty darn firm, the engine sound was just sad, infotainment is dated. Really torn on this car. Not a great daily without the adaptive suspension but quite a looked.

From what I understand, adaptive suspension isn't any better. But I wouldn't know as I have the standard suspension.

That makes sense. In 2016 the adaptive suspension tech isn't where it's at today.

The general consensus is if you plan on modding your car, skip the adaptive suspension. Coil-overs would negate that.
