They aren't super bright right under the sun but they are visible to others

Not that I'm aware of as these lights were introduced with the BMW M4 GTS. The replicas however started being produced for the 3 series before the replicas on the 4 series...which btw cost +200 for no reason while there is no brake light on the inner small taillight, unlike the 3 series replica.

They're v2 because the lights that animate have an horizontal line across them, to replicate more closely the oem GTS lights.

Technically these are V1 as there are no V2, only sedans have V1/V2 differentiation.

No, that's for sedans. Coupes/verts don't have V2's.

Anyone install these on a convertible yet? My '18 F33 has crazy complicated hinge system for the various top up/down plus raising the entire roof assembly out of the way for better trunk access. Routing the extra cable is not nearly as easy as you guys with a 'normal' trunk.

Also, kinda related, there is one video on YouTube (known BMW tuner/seller) mentioning that LCI lights do NOT need the wires from the outer/quarter panel to the inside trunk lights? Anyone try this? If this works, it'll make my install significantly easier.

I asked the very same question in another thread but got no answer

In my case I already did the LCI upgrade with the factory harness where I had to run xtra wires for the trunk tails & coding - so is it necessary to run the Vland xtra wires?

That Kies Motorsports install video is for the M3 variety of these lights - M4 & M3 are different lights so it's unsure whether his comment of not having to run the xtra wiring if LCI applies to the M4 lights

I finally gave in & just ordered a set in red for my Mineral Grey using the coupon code for $30 off

If I no likey, I can always resell & put the OEM Euro Blacklines back in

And I WILL see if the resistors are needed if you have coding done (since I have), and whether or not the xtra wires need to be run to the inners if car is LCI (or OEM upgraded to LCI) & report back

Haven't attempted the install yet, but I've got a set coming in next week. I found this post outlining how someone else replaced their tails:

It's a neat little project. The hardest part is removing the trunk (top) interior panel and the emergency trunk release.

These are PnP so no need to worry about the wiring or coding.
