Stock Intakes became very loud all of a sudden

My car started to make a lot more intake noise almost like I have BMS intakes or something. Almost like how when you put the car in sport+ mode you heard a lot more intakes noise but 4x louder and in every throttle mode (efficient, sport, sport+). Everything on the car is stock and is on stock tune. I'm wondering what could this be. I kept driving the car because I didn't think much of it until I got a stutter start then the next day a CEL, the codes I was able to pull were

P00BD
P11E0

The car has been at a shop for a week now and we still don't know what is wrong. The charge pipes look fine, as well as the j pipe. They did a smoke test and could not find anything. Any advice or anyone been in a similar situation?

EDIT: I only hear this sound under loud, I can't hear it when stationary and revving the engine.

Sounds like a charge pipe issue.. I would re-examine them again more closely

I agree with above. Could be a crack in a plastic charge pipe. If it is then it's warranty covered.

My car is a 2016 so it's out of warranty unfortunately. Wondering if the charge pipe would fail the smoke test if that were the case. They did one a low PSI then another at high PSI? Would the noise only come up under loud if it was the charge pipe or would it also happen when stationary. Either way I'll have them double check it. I appreciate the responses!

Get some kind of $20 lavalier clip-on microphone with a 10-15ft cord for your phone. Duct tape it in different spots under hood as you drive to help isolate where the sound is coming from.

Me, I'd take it all apart, inspect the tubes for cracks, edges of any couplers for wear, check if those o-rings at the bottom of the CPs and Intake Riser tube have split or aren't greased up, and make sure that all the screw clamps were in the right grooves in the plastic intake tubes. When one clamp wasn't in a groove right I got a lot of squeal as air got sucked in under heavy pedal.

Will try that out thanks! All the times that I can hear when under load it's sounds like it's coming from the passenger side almost like it's in front of the glovebox, which is where the charge pipes are located was definitely surprised when I hear them say it was charge pipes but I'll have them check again.

Also check the inlet riser stack that comes off the rear turbo, the one with a 10mm bolt at the engine cover. That has an o-ring at the bottom that needs to be greased good. Above this stack is the 90 elbow for the short side intake. I think one plastic intake tube bolts here too. Kies has a good video showing all steps of a CP swap, for reference.

So I had them check the charge pipes again and intakes everything seems fine. I got a buddy to hear where the noise is coming from and it sounds likes it coming from underneath the car behind the wheel. Anyone know what might be there? I was thinking it's the piping that goes to the turbo but not sure what it's called.

No… Don't have "somebody" check it.

1) Watch the Kies video.
2) YOU check it, and find & fix it.
3) Feel golden knowing you fixed YOUR baby. That feeling is priceless.
