•Side and Top View Cameras - I use these all the time - gotta keep that lip on somehow!
•Speed Limit Info - useful at times.

I don't find the other features overly useful, but they're nice to have.

I do miss that little glovebox to the left of the steering wheel that I had on my F30 though.

Well I get that they aren't necessities but I wouldn't turn them off if I had them lol

Plus with the lease it only cost $612 ($17x36) so I decided it was worth it.

If you don't get it you can't code the led anti dazzle properly so if you want to awesome LEDs lights you need it.
Personally I love the speed limit info and the vibrating when I get close to a line on the road.

That's actually not true. If you read further into the thread they determined that you can code it without DAP.

I added it anyway. Car is at the port awaiting a vessel.

You can code it but there are parts missing. It doesn't work any where near as well. I am happy to see you got it though! It's worth the money.

Not to bring a thread back but i couldn't agree with this post any more! Ive had this exact thing happen to me and all it does is beep in your face half the time anyways (depending on the car you have). I would never buy a car with a "driver assistance" package. If you need the assistance package, then you should NOT be in a car in the first place, but more importantly it can have a negative affect to the point it negates even getting it in the first place.

Really? Your profile shows that you drive an "07 335i". Pretty sure that this technology was not available on a 12 year old BMW. It wasn't available on my wife's previous 11 335is.

Going up hill towards a green light and zero visibility to the cross street at the intersection (Seattle hills). An idiot ran his red light just as I cleared the hill lip. Car beeped loudly and hit the brakes hard before I even saw his roofline. For this instance, I'm glad the car came with the package.

So far have not had issues on the freeway on cruise getting cut off. The big red car icon shows up on the HUD warning I'm too close to the car in front after it cut in front of me but have not slammed on the brakes at all to slow down. I can only assume that the auto braking is part of the City anti collision system thus disabled when going freeway speeds.

Glad to hear it saved you. You must not have been paying attention, as the radar/laser system in vehicles can only see line of sight. They can NOT see around corners or over hills like what you described, thats literally impossible. Just saying

Way to make assumption, but that's your prerogative. The location of the sensors are at least a good 2 feet ahead of driver position. 50 degree angle onto a 4 lane street and the other vehicle is in the far lane. The sensors and emitters would clear and have line of sight before you in the vehicle.

Im having trouble understanding your situation, but it sounds to me you were coming around a 50 degree bend and the front end of your car saw the situation first which i agree with, is an advantage. A few feet is hardly anything but good for you on utilizing what you paid for. Conversely, there are situations that make it worse for the driver just as it can make it better. Ive had bad experiences with the assistance packages so i would never recommend it There's nothing better then having full control over your car, if you know how to drive you shouldn't need any assistance package.

Lol you sound like a complete moron. Let's let all world governments know that anyone who options driver's assistance are not good enough to be behind the wheel.

Your accusation is based off a false premise, when did i ever say anything like that? Are you feeling personally attacked because you opted for the assistance package?

The frontal collision warning or automatic emergency braking system lowered my insurance pretty significantly. Plus the speed limit detection is extremely useful
