i just put my gintani downpipes on and sitting at stop lights is brutal. My wife / friends have a bigger issue than me.

May try the Evolution 200 cell race catted dP's and see how that does..

Thanks
I think you’re confusing downpipes with charge pipes that crack.

I find it to be intermittent. When someone comments on the odor, which isn’t bad at all or I’m just used to it, I tell them “that’s horsepower you’re smelling...”

Aren’t there secondary cats ? The secondary cats must clean up the smell somewhat.

I'm getting catless installed now - guess I'll have to wait an see. Hoping that the secondary cats kill the smell. I've never read a post with such polarizing experiences.

I had VRSF catless downpipes, AA mid, and stock comp mufflers on my previous f80. I could only notice the smell when I was standing behind the car. The smell wasn’t really noticeable inside the cabin. I think everyone will have different opinions on what’s a livable exhaust smell..

Why is this thread even two pages long, so far?!?

You've removed the primary Catalytic Convertors. What do you think
they were there for in the first place?!?

What did you think would happen?

For those of you that have them removed and don't smell it...

!!You've Grown Accustomed to The Smell!!

Cheers!

I put ER Hi-Flow 200cpi sport cats on stock exhaust with a Stage1 93o tune and got a mild fuel smell (paint shop), no stink.

Upgraded the exhaust from stock to AA Signature full cat-back, which has the 100cpi mini-cat in the second section. No change in smell. The AA Midpipe does not have the mini-cat.

Overall smell seems to be handled by the primary cats in the downpipes.

Be aware loss of smell and taste is a very early sign of COVID 19.

Back on topic - I'm pretty amazed people don't notice the smell from a catless car.

Day one of having the primary cats removed and I dont smell anything. So it not that I'm used to it. Also with the top down I don't smell anything. Definite improvement overall, the one downside is the inside of the tail pipes are dirty af after a few miles

While I do not have a very good sense of smell or a GTR, I do have to agree the E85 produces a sweet smell. I can only smell mine when I am behind my car, but again, I can barely smell most things. Last but not least, I am only writing to try to get this thread to three pages in length.

When you're raised on catless V8's, cams and Holley carbs, a catless S55's odourless in comparison to that
