thinking of getting an F82, and want to know what engine mods are the easiest for more HP ? i saw SSR has a deal for intakes, chargepipe , and downpipes. what else is there to be done ? and what exhaust are most popular ?

The easiest bang for your buck modification will be software. Specifically, proTUNING Freaks BM3 Stage I good for ~80whp/100wtq. No additional modifications are required.

a tune for the fuel octane/type you are using.

FULL E85 if possible. NOTHING else is needed.

Agreed, best answer right here. Spend a couple hundred bucks and you are good to go. No need to spend thousands on exhaust or intake. These will give you negative bang for your bucks, only more sound.

From simply a power perspective, here's the best bang for the buck build:

- Catless Downpipe
- BM3/E85 Tune (we use Cary Jordan for tuning)
- BMC Filters
- 97506 Plugs, regapped
- Charge Pipes (no gains in power, just to handle additional boost)

The cars are very well built in stock form, with very little mods needed. No need to upgrade remaining portion of exhaust unless upgrading turbos or simply want different sound/style of tips. We typically see 560-575whp on the dyno, which is about ~150whp gain over stock.

You may be perfectly happy with stock power. The only reason why I got a tune was to get rid of the cold startup and to have a better sounding exhaust. Tuned power is really about too much for street use.

We offer a combo deal for BM3 + VRSF CP/DP
Best value package on the market.

Tune + charge pipe are a must for power , adding downpipe will allow you to run stage 2 maps for even more power.

Stage 1 tune, but then the warranty question always comes up.

What is the benefit of getting rid of cold start?

Purely a sound thing. Some people don't like how loud it is

You can go stage 2: 91 Octane and be right around 500 WHP | 520 WTQ (on average)

Or jump straight into an E85 tune and be right around 530 WHP | 530 WTQ.

Requirements for Stage 2:

- Catless Downpipes
- BM3

Requirements for E85 Tune
- NGK 97506 Spark Plugs
- BM3
- Custom Tuning by Cary Jordan (our preferred tuner)

I have the E85 tune on my personal car, more than happy to give you a ride! Here is an overlay comparison of my car stock, stage 1: 91 tune, and stage 2 E85 tune by Cary Jordan

I turned it off before I switched maps because in the 6mt the rpm fluctuates at low speeds and generally runs like rubbish.

Could you explain please. Cold start effects low speed/ rpm driving

what he's saying, 6mt runs like complete dog shit on cold start until you let it get past the cold start stage. I love the sound but its so annoying to try and drive in cold start with my 6mt.

So, he deleted his cold start sequence.

You're confusing Oil Temp.

Cold Start is for emissions only (speaking solely for BM3 option). Simply heats the cats to operating temps as quickly as possible.

Yes, the goal of cold start is to create more heat to get the cats into their efficiency range.

However, I’m talking about the RPM. It raises the idle and messes with the dash pot settings so when you’re driving out of your neighborhood (relatively low rpm) it runs poorly.
