S55 Ticking/Fluttering Noise from Engine

Wondering if anyone has heard anything similar to this noise? Coming from the passenger side of the engine, you can hear it the most at 1,500-2,000 RPM.
Valve Cover/PCV? Lifter issue? Downpipe rattling?

if you have just installed downpipes, sometimes the clamps come loose. this happened to me and it would rattle on low rpm’s. easy fix.

Did you ever end up figuring the noise out? Most likely stock turbo noises.

No, not yet. I hope it’s nothing in the valvetrain… Fingers crossed it’s just one of the downpipes rattling. I will listen with a stethoscope to try and pinpoint where exactly the noise is coming from and let you know.

I have the same noise but only if im driving with low rpm between 2-3k.

Revisiting this thread, were you able to track down the ticking noise? I’m having the same issue 2020 m4 25k miles completely stock.

BMW said its coming from the turbos.
No need to worry and its normal. Frustrating but nothing you can do.
