2023 - Share Your Upcoming Track Day(s)

Looks like the 2022 thread went well and we had some dope meet ups and some first timers that are joining the track club. Let's continue!

Use this thread to coordinate some track days for regulars on this forum and new guys that are looking to start tracking or maybe get some advice/guidance/tips. Track days are better with more people.

DATE(S) - ORGANIZER/CLUB - TRACK

Here's the 2023 schedule so far.
Dates in italic are tentative
Trying out Road America in 2023 and maybe NJMP Lightning
Some of these dates are solid, others are estimates as not everyone has published their schedules for 2023 at this time

Suggestions for the forum:
1) If you want to go to VIR, try the PCA Potomac date at the beginning of the season. Great weather down there
2) The forum should get together for the PCA Potomac WGI event. Early in the season, good weather, it's on a weekend
And of course PCA Potomac is the nicest PCA group out there, great people

Start End # days Start End Track Club
30-Mar 2-Apr 4 Thu Sun VIR BMWCCA Tarheel

Fwiw nw shelby is kinda a 'no rules' sort of org. If it fits octoberfast end of September with badger bimmers is a better event.

Thanks for keeping this going @NYG
Here is where I'll be with my 2016 M3:

Apr 22-23, NW Shelby Club, Road America
(Currently first HPDE on the repaved track)

May 26-28, Chicago PCA, Road America
(All marquess welcome and a great event. Usually you can register for a single day or just the weekend. I'll be there for the weekend).

June 5, Badger Bimmers, BlackHawk Farms

July 2, NW Shelby Club, Road America.
Sunday only right now.

August 25, Badger Bimmers, BlackHawk Farms

Sept 29-Oct 1, Badger Bimmers, Road America

October 16, Chicago PCA, AutoBahn Club Full Track.

To Be Confirmed:

December, Audi Club, Daytona
(Waiting dates to confirm)

Should be a busy year. After my first M3 season, I now need to complete several upgrades to brakes, suspension, and engine.

I love passing Porsche's.

I will probably be there for Chin.
If you haven’t been to COTA, this track walk is really helpful.

https://speedsecrets.com/virtual-track-walks/

If you have questions about COTA, PM me and I will give you my phone number for a call. I’ve done 50 plus days there in the last 5 years.

Added: next year! I still have 5 days to finish out 2022.

The first rule of COTA is to watch out for any and all Porsches out on the track with you. Each and every one of them is out there to win the HPDE cup and apparently is awarded at the end of the outlap.

The Corvettes are a little wilder than the Porsches over here.

We graduated way past vette issues over here so they are not a worry - just drive away from them. Hopefully you east coast gents get there some day.

My Corvette was laid to rest at the barriers before turn 11 of Watkins Glen so we're making progress.

Well hello mouth here's foot... sorry to hear about that. Sucks getting into a wall like that but assuming you came out of it ok? I certainly did not enjoy my experience like that.

I'm there. I want to start trying some other groups in 2023, especially at WGI.

I wonder if anyone is down for a bimmerpost VRI event. Which on the list would you recommend?

As far as I know, I'm ok.

Wasn't fun but track insurance took care of everything. Biggest post-crash changes was how much I'm willing to push. Getting better every event but really need to get a race car and stop using the R8.

Mine was laid to rest at the barriers of Turn 1 exit at Road America.

Progress indeed😂

14-Apr 16-Apr 3 Fri Sun VIR Potomac PCA

I suggest the first vir Potomac event on the list, it's earlier than most events start in the northeast so it's like a free weekend in the season

The best place to stay in vir is on-site, at the lodge, but you have to be fast making reservations in Feb so you make it in.

Ughh, would love to join you guys at WGI, but given my very fresh oopsie there, I promised myself I'd stay away next year until I get my feet wet again. I should probably stick to that.

While I have no vested interests, if you're looking at NJMP and can swing a Monday or Friday, I always put a plug in for moehpde.com. Good group and good value.
