Wet Tire Setup - DSC and Alternate Sizing

Prepping for next season I'm trying to nail down my wet tire selection. For a regular dry track tire I have a square set of 18x10 Hankook RS4s.

For a wet setup I'm looking at PSS, PS4S, ECS, or similar. The question is if I should keep the 20" 666m wheels running factory sizes, or switch to a 18" with a 275/295 stagger - the latter is close but a .5% difference in diameter relationship. In any instance I would need new tires.

I've read quite a bit about DSC intrusion if the stagger is not quite right. Sure I can go to Euro MDM and maybe that is the answer, but looking for suggestions on ideal tire setup to work with existing traction algorithms on the car.

Stock size, you don't need to go as wide for wet performance. I have amazing experience with super sports in the wet but I feel like PS4S with high pressures should be really really good too. I've never tried them though.

Having MPSS 4S’ in the rain are like cheat codes. I only rocked them out of necessity since I didn’t trust the 100/200 TW tires I was running. Overall I highly recommend going with them with the OEM sizing.

Did you ever try the Conti ECS? I ran them on my prior car for wets and was super pleased, just dont know how that translates to the F82.

Unfortunately I've never ran continentals. You can't go wrong there though, 340 TW and a good reputation in general. As long as you keep an eye on sidewall rating I'm sure you'll have just as a great of an experience with them on the F82.

As a quick side note, with the 4s' there's this weird initiation/loading up with them that some people notice, but that was the only downside with them for DD/Wet track events. Personally I have the 4s star spec (from the G8X's) which that got rid of that annoyance and had some Cup2 compounds in them. If you want some more tires to look at, check out this youtube page.

I run a square Conti ECS 275 setup for wet and they have worked well.
