Navigation and Instrument Cluster DIM after tinting windows

I have an F80 M3 2016, I tinted the windows with 3M Crystalline 70 all around, now when im in the car the dashboard is dim and also the navigation, unless is completely sunny or I flash a light into the dashboard then the dashboard and navigation will brighten again.

I took it to the dealer and they told me that is something that happens when you tint the windows and that there is nothing they can do!?!?

Has anybody else seen this problem? Is there a way to code it?

Any help would be appreciated

I don't have this problem and don't see why it would occur.

I noticed this problem after tinting my windows 40%. You can increase the display brightness but I found that doing so made it too bright at night. After fiddling with the brightness settings for a while I left it at default and learned to live with it.

It doesn't happen all the time, just under certain light conditions (which I have yet to figure out)

How do you increase brightness during the day? I only found a setting but is for night only

Thanks!

You need to find where the cars light sensor is then cut a circle of the tint out so it isn't affected.

I changed it in iDrive: Settings->Control Display->Brightness.

I found that it works for both day and night, but it doesn't change the instrument cluster brightness.

You reduce the ambient lighting...thus the display automatically dims...
That seems like a reason for the display to get brighter rather than dim but ok. Glad I haven't run into this issue with tint / CF roof.

Yes but the phone also gives you an option to control brightness manually, so I can set it to the level I want, the weird thing is that the car does not let you control anything yourself during the day.

sucks

None, when you tint the car windows, then since it's darker inside then the cluster will dimm, I have taken the car to several BMW dealerships and they all say there is nothing to be done.
