You gotta floor it in first with tc off (don't upshift) and allow the car to start moving then slam on the brakes with left foot to stop the car and now you're burning out, ideally ASAP
Keep in mind this doesn't work unless you wait for the cars front wheels to move otherwise it just engages launch control or something Don't spin onto a curb or something heard someone got serious damage cause they drifted onto a curb and destroyed their rear axle and all these other components |

The easiest way to do a burn out is to do the following
1. turn off traction control 2. if you tap very quickly the gas pedal a few (2-3 times) it will allow you to raise the rpm without engaging the clutch on the dct. you have to tap it quickly and repeatedly without pressing and holding it. this is key 3. on the 3rd time, press and hold the the gas. The dct will do a clutch drop and you will burn out. 4. enjoy

In my experience, as soon as you tap the throttle, the DCT engages the clutch. That's even my trick for quick and smooth getaways, tap the throttle to engage the clutch and then aggressively roll on the throttle. To do a burnout, you need to stomp on the throttle from rest, the DCT is programmed to let the revs rise before dumping the clutch. The harder and the further you stomp on the throttle, the higher the revs rise before the clutch engages.

I love that BMW actually programmed the DCT to do a clutch dump like this, they clearly had burnouts and launches in mind with their design

Try what we explain: DSC off (completely off, not in MDM), from a complete standstill with the foot off the brake, stomp hard on the throttle. If you're not getting a burnout, something is wrong with your car.

All it takes is following the same initial steps to have DSC, D-Logic, etc. configured for Launch Control use. However, don't hold the brake. Simply come to a stop and let DCT do its thing to hold the car still, let off the brake, hammer accelerator to the floor. Instant smoke plumes from the wheel wells. Just make sure to lightly engage the brake once you floor it and watch the RPMs.
