Approximate price for a 2015 near-stripper M3?

I looked at a 2015 M3 that's nearly a complete base spec. Only options are DCT, mineral white, red interior. It's in great shape and only has 6,XXX miles on it. They've priced it insanely high but I've made an aggressive initial offer but I worry that even then I'm staying firm at a price that may be too high (62k).

I'm curious what you guys think a base '15 should be going for?

Options get hit the hardest with depreciation, while stripper builds don't drop quite as much.

Ordering new may be a good option if you can stand the wait.

At 62k you're stupidly close to brand new...

Indeed. Especially when they were originally asking 68,600...

$62k is probably what the original owner paid after negotiating (you can look up the original base plus dct invoice and msrp prices to get the range). I would like to think these cars hold value that well but that's a stretch to me.

Msrp was 67,350. NADA clean trade value is 64k right now.
I've got them to 60k right now. I'm feeling like that's a much more palatable price.

I just sold my FULLY Loaded DCT with MPE and a bunch of BMW carbon upgrades for 66k with only 12k miles... keep looking, deals are out there.

doesn't matter.

having a car loaded out, in the used market doesn't mean much, yea sure.. a little extra.. but options matter when you buy it off the lot. Thats about it.

a salesperson (who was not selling me a car) told me that options just make his job easier, they don't necessarily make the car more valuable. seems similar to your point

That's exactly why Porsche uses MRM (Max Residualized MSRP) for their leases. You can option those things to the moon, and they'll happily build it for you - though after a certain point you're paying full fare instead of just depreciation.

Granted the difference between new and used may be bigger after you consider your sales tax, for WA its about 10% so immediately it's a $6-7k jump. But on the flip side, if you do buy new you get a 3yr/36k no-cost main't... that's what made me go with a new one, plus for the MY16+ they made navi/keyless standard so all I definitely wanted was a base model, not rims or exec pkg.

Also, that $6-7k diff made it all worth it since I picked the exact color scheme.

ended up getting my ED M3 for less than $3k more than a loaded 340i.

Not as pertinent but just FYI: dealerships also don't really care if you do/don't add options, since BMW only allows up to 10% commission on options. so It's not worth a sales rep to try and strong arm you into getting options if you're not even remotely interested - they'd rather close with you on the car itself quickly. Now, if you ended up building the car up to $84k then they'd made around $2k extra for the entire dealership commission ($64k + $20k options).. which is what a lot of dealers do with their allocations and why you can't find a stripper build at your local dealerships usually since they're optioned the hell out of them <- to lure those seeking instant gratification

The build date matters too.. When does the warranty mature? I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks extra for a good warranty. I will say HUD, backup cam, bluetooth and touch entry have become options I can't live without anyway.

My car was bought two months ago in south fl.

2015 m3 6spd. Originally sold mid 2015. 37 months warranty or 43.5k miles left.

The cars fully loaded minus dct and carbon brakes. Sticker was almost 80, it has a bunch of performance parts that add up quiiiiick!

They originally wanted 65.5

I paid 62,600 +++
