Some more pictures from the arrival. Airport is fairly small. We had a 7 series waiting for us that took us to the hotel. He mentioned that the city is dry on Sunday's so he took us by a liquor store outside city limits to get some wine.

We had arrived at 11am and walked to a Mexican restaurant about a mile away that was pretty good. Other than we had to stay in the room since its been pouring all day. Finally we had dinner that was paid for by BMW at the hotel that was surprisingly good. The filet was cooked perfectly and we brought are own bottle of wine.

Now just hoping I can fall asleep tonight.

Well I didn't take many pictures.. Honestly I got there, slapped the go pro on my car and just had a huge smile from ear to ear the whole time. I was too excited to even take out the phone.

I barley could sleep the night before but managed to fall asleep at around 2 and woke up at 6:30 promptly. I got myself ready and forced my girlfriend out the door at 7:00 am to head to the buffet. It was actually pretty good for a free breakfast.

The normal shuttle bus was broken so we ended up taking X5s to the PC. I was the only one taking delivery of an M car.

After the short introduction and class, we hopped into our blue m3. Had CCBs and had the M steering wheel. Someone was actually picking up an i8 so they had him in an m4. Me and him were paired up which worked out great since the 2 m cars were on the autox which avoiding bunching up of the slower cars.

I had forgotten how much power the m3 had since my test drive a couple of months ago. On top of that, it was pouring which made for some fun slipping around. I never had the balls to turn DSC completely off, only MDM mode because of how much the car was slipping in MDM. The autocross was the highlight of the 3 courses. We got more lap time than I expected. I was also able to convince the instructor to let us do the skid pad in the m3 and not his 335i. He gladly complied

After that we went in a hot lap in an m3. I was expecting an m5 and more drifting but none the less, still fun. After that we went back to be told if we were going to do the factory tour or be doing delivery. I was praying that I would be doing delivery since we wanted to skip the tour anyways and get an early start on the ride home. Luckily we got the delivery.

After being in amazement from seeing the car, It was time to be handed the keys. The delivery process was fairly quick as I knew how everything worked. I was amazed to find that my dealer provided me with an expired temp tag. PCD was nice enough to provide me with one that cost them 30$. Since we had some time to kill, I took the car for a little drive around the back roads before lunch.

I let my girlfriend do the entire off-road course as I wasn't too interested in it.

After an 8 hour drive I can say this car is everything and more that BMW says it is. Handles great, more than enough power, and I love the dct and exhaust note. The BSM looks even better in person!

The only draw back from the 8 hour drive was the road noise. Damn is the car loud! You really can't hear the music when cruising at 80 on old paved roads.

All in all, I would do all over again

Better than I thought! Loving it.

I'm at universal right now and let's just say the drive home sounds more exciting than the rides. I went 30 minutes out of the way for breakfast just to drive

This is what happens when you let your friend drive your car in the rain.

I'm devastated... 5 days

Tell me that's PhotoShop.

Was everyone ok?

I'm so sorry. I really have nothing to say that would make you feel better.
Your friend must feel awful.

Yea no photoshop.... I didn't know but he had hit my m2 which has traction fully off. We also had a couple beers, nothing crazy, just split a pitcher.

Either way he feels terrible. Just some cuts a bruises. I'm no expert but I didn't see any frame damage. Just side airbags, bumper and trunk. Not even the wheel was damaged. However it rippled into the fender. The gas cap even came off.

He drifted a blind corner and there was an oncoming car. He over corrected into a tree.

I'll have an update tomorrow of that damage.

I'll give you credit for posting and telling what happened. The "perfect driver" police may be on the prowl soon. Hard to get a good idea of the all damage from that picture.

Did you lease the car?

Again so sorry. At least no one was seriously hurt.

Yea, let them come by. There's no excuses here. Just a confidence boost from alcohol and the wrong m button.

I don't even have the balls to drive this car with traction fully off. I just have it in m2 for the burnouts.

I'm not sure if a safety feature but the car would not start.

Yea it was a lease.

At least you win either way with a lease. If the car can be repaired, then drive and turn it in at lease end with no residual loss headache. If the car is totaled then you should be able to walk away and start over.

For your sake I hope they can repair it. You waited so long for that car. It's cruel.

Yea... He's been great about it though, he's gonna pay for any fees. He has it towed on a flatbed to my local body shop.

I'm just concerned it wouldn't start. I know that's right where the battery is. No ignition or anything. I was in shock but looking at the picture looks like some fuel was leaking but too hard to tell.

OMG! SO SORRY, man! Was with you that whole waiting time too. Well, at least no one was hurt (other than feelings), and it doesn't appear to be anything major engine or drivetrain-related as far as those photos show so it's just typical body work which should not be a long event. If the airbag deployed the engine may have ben disabled as a safety thing. Not sure if BMW does that?

In any case, Keep us all posted. Hang in there!!

After some quick research, apparently there is a charge that goes off on the positive terminal of the battery, disconnecting it. None of the electronics works and the rpm and speedo were locked at a certain speed.

Also that's right where the battery is, so it's probably damaged.

I'll have an estimate tomorrow.

I hope all the running gear and frame are ok. It's always a crapshoot in what the will fix and what they will total until the claims inspector gets a good look at it.

At least you will find out shortly.
