I think it looks 100x better and I would definitely consider getting it.

What would be even better is if BMW offered this optional front and call it “ClassicDesign” like Porsche does with its “SportDesign” bumpers for the 911.

Just so I can get this abomination; I'm so embarrassed. 🤣
You literally posted a pic of a horrendous grill that has a front plate right in the middle of it and actually improved the look. Thats how poorly thought out this design was. Unfortunately nothing can hide the Dodge hood - maybe some stripes, graphics and hood pins can help lol.

still doesn't look good

i'll keep my fingers crossed they make some drastic changes for the LCI model.

for what the g80 costs i'd rather just get a used f90 or f92 that sounds and looks way better. only downside is no manual.

Like I said in the other thread, I think it's an improvement for sure. Hard to improve structurally what's already there, plus having to deal with the hood indents there.

Shame because the grille and gauges are the only things holding me back from buying a G80 as my next M, and I can live with the digital tach. I really want to see how much work it would be to graft the M8 bumper and grilles on, like how much would need to be cut or whatever from the car. I know it's much easier said than done but then the car would be perfect IMO.

That thing BOSS!

Only looks decent in black bc you can’t see the ugliness as much. But people are proudly rocking lime green g80/g82 with 15ft long front grilles and GTO hoods from the 60’s. Bmw was experimenting and is now laughing right now bc they wanted to see who in the right mind would pay 90k for this. And even worse is people are proudly driving this around as if it’s not an eye sore.

Bring on my next ban lol

A good part of the "big mouth" problem comes from how BMW stuffed brake duct vents into the lower grille, taking away space from the smaller side radiators. Previously shown thermal imaging showed that the side radiator(s) do a lot of cooling work for the S55 TMIC circuit. This is why the driver tire runs hotter than the others.

Not only do the new G models reduce the airflow to engine cooling (albeit at the expense of adding brake venting), but the S58 AWIC is integrated in the middle of a funky Jpipe-cooler-manifold combined piece. This means augmenting cooling will come with a higher price/effort, and the complexity deters aftermarket manufacturers. One upside is someone at BMW thought a little bit about PI needs.

If you are dropping that kind of money and feel the need to spend another 8k on this, maybe it’s not the right car to begin with! To me this solution is not entirely better, just different… proportionally is not great, in the opposite way to the OEM. I wonder if BMW would void the warranty on the basis of such big change and claim less cooling, etc. I think you would have to be crazy to do this but great attempt from Evolve.

Why being so obsessive with the grill? It's not as though our food is on it!!

I like it. Much better. I like the lower end too. But Like others I would have a hard time discarding a brand new front end off a brand new car and spending spending 8k (plus labor) to put a new one on. Even if I had money to burn just on principle it would give me a bellyache.
