Apple Carplay issue
I just recently flashed my M4 to have Carplay. I used the free service that easy bimmer coding provided here in the forum. It works great most of the time but out of no where, when i turn my car on it won’t connect to car play. I try disconnecting it and re adding, restarting the navigation screen and nothing seems to fix it. It just magically comes back when it feels like it. When it can’t connect it comes up with an error saying “Unable to establish connection”. Anyone else have this issue? And anyone know a way to solve this? Really enjoy Carplay....

Hello!
You require a Wifi Antenna Purchase here https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Cellul...9886970&sr=8-3 Simply plug it into the Purple port on the rear of your Headunit labeled WLAN and your connection will be seamless |

On your phone, when the car is on and you're not able to get CarPlay to work, go in to your wifi settings and manually connect to the BMW CarPlay wifi you see. If CarPlay starts working, then it's an issue with the phone not automatically connecting to that wifi when it starts up.
To fix this: 1. Turn on car 2. Go to wifi settings on phone 3. Tap the blue i with a circle around it (info) next to the BMW Carplay wifi 4. Tap Forget This Network 5. Go to bluetooth settings on your phone 6. Tap the blue i with a circle around it (info) next to the BMW bluetooth device 7. Tap Forget This Device 8. Go in your iDrive to Manage Devices 9. Delete your phone device 10. Reconnect your devices, selecting to use Carplay The difference between what you've tried already, and the above, is that youre manually telling the phone to also forget the bluetooth, and more importantly, the wifi. Wireless CarPlay needs the wifi due to bandwidth/throughput requirements that bluetooth alone cannot provide. I believe that when you configure CarPlay, your phone configures itself to search for the wifi associated with the bluetooth device of the car. This can get bungled up due to various reasons and it doesn't auto connect anymore. Hope this helps.
