Burbles not working on 2015 M4 - Bootmod3 Stage 1
I have read other threads and also been in contact with PTF to get resolved but nothing yet. PTF had me re-download a fresh map and flash the map over with multiple burble settings but no luck. They had me make sure ASD was enabled in diagnostics and still nothing. Other forum members mentioned ASD must be disabled so I also tried that but still no burbles. Not sure what the issue is. I bought the car stock with no flash or anything. Currently have a non-valved muffler but not sure this matters.
Any ideas? |

I think the car gods are telling you that you shouldn’t be putting burbles on this car... just sayin.

Did you switch into Sport or Sport+?
Did you set your valves to stay open in Sp/Sp+? In diagnostics are you getting an exhaust flap error, or do you have resistor plugs (a flap simulator plug, not a valve switch/fob)? Did you try a custom setting of 5-sec and 5-agg at all speeds and RPMs?

Yes tried in sport and sport plus. I don't have valves on the AA three can rear muffler. No errors in diagnostics and no plug or anything. I tried custom with 5 second and 5 agg and also tried OTS.

Next, download the free GTS map, configure all settings (every one) and try that. See if something changes.

Yes, disable cold start and try again.

The only other troubleshooting step would be to try loading another map with burbles like the GTS. After that you need to email PTF Support.

It kind of seems like 9.1 is a tad buggy. I know it's been out for almost a year now. I've had a few minor issues that are still unresolved myself. Burbles randomly stopping is one of them. You're not alone with this.

Also re-download a new map.... then go in and enable ASD, turn on flaps open in sp/sp+ and dont touch anything else for now. Do this before flashing then flash after the changes are done. Then go drive it for a day or two. if that does not fix it do a DME re-set. If still not working put in a ticket... they can remote in and fix

My burbles were going in and out, not saying that this is the case for you, but PTR told me this. "Burbles will stop once EGT (exhaust gas temperature) goes too high to protect itself." Once they said this I knew this is what was happening in my case. I have stock DPs, so the pressures and temps will get super high between the turbos and cats even after 2 high rev pulls.
For you since they never happen at all, it's unlikely to be the case. But it might be worth looking at that sensor to rule it out completely. Although, I'm assuming if the sensor was bad, you'd probably have other symptoms of it. But I'm really not sure on this. |
