I have the rear sunshade on my 2016 M4 and my wife has it on her 2018 M3. We leave it up most of the time. Neither one of us has noticed any rattling.

3 straight auto's ordered with the rear sunshade, never a rattle & absolutely love the thing. It's a partial "tint" without the tint

Mine rattles all the time - the only way to stop it from rattling it is to have it up, but I can't see any value in that as it reduces visibility at night and on cloudy days (we get some of them here in Chicago).

Leaving it up would be a little like having tinted tail lights - sure you look cool, but you are just being dumb and lowering your visibility.

My only gripe is the bullshit plastic they line this luxury sports sedan/coupe interior with. It snaps, it crackles, and it pops. Kia's don't even do this shit.
The DCT has it's woes too but that can be flash tuned when my warranty expires in a few years so I don't mind that too much.

No reverse camera. That one bothers me on a daily basis.

Getting a VF stage 1 tune that destroyed the engine. Requiring a replacement at close to 30k out of pocket.

Love my car but the crank hub issue has really put a big cross on this car.

The F80 was my first bmw and I always grew up with the idea of M3 being built rock solid.

With the growing issues with the crank hub, I'm now considering selling it.

Now my car is bone stock and still under warranty and I have previously purchased a tune but I'm terrified to load it up since it will turn my car into a ticking time bomb. And if things were to go south, I could not afford to fix it.

Now I understand the "You play, you pay" scenario. But really, this motor should be built to take a bit more power considering what we pay and the engineering that was supposed to go into it.

Previously I owned a Holden monaro(LS1) and a HSV GTS (LS3). Both those cars had bolt on mods and tuned. The track record for those motors were rock solid with the extra power and I always had confidence in them. I don't see why the M3 should be any different but it is in a big way..

Any performance motor engineered properly should always be able to handle some extra power without a sweat, provided you don't go ape shit.

Now it feels I'm stuck with the stock power granted it's still pretty decent, but in the end we always urge a little more.

I guess the only feature I wouldn't mind having is the blind spot alert on my side mirrors. I have my mirrors setup to eliminate 99% of blind spots area, but that 1% makes me slightly uneasy when driving my family.

My only regret with this car is that there is no autobahn in the US where I can really drive it in its native environment.

16 F80 44k miles no issues, no rattles just miles and miles of smiles both on road and on track.

I have the BSM in my car. Pretty useless as it can be unnoticeable in daylight and the icon too far from normal glancing/quick peeks. I don't pay attention to it.
You're not missing much from not getting it.

I agree, it definitely sucks paying so much for a car and then feeling like its going to blow up. In my personal opinion I can't see finding a better car under $100k so I ended up just doing the crank hub fix since mine spun anyways.
